Hi there :) Just saw the anon's ask and wanted to offer a few recs/books I know of in this sphere and unless I say otherwise I've read them, and if I haven't I know them still to be relevant/important. Also should say all of these texts (with Sontag perhaps being an exception) do not have anti-porn leanings or agendas. Criticisms of the industry and content, yes, but I'm not the source to ask about the kind of polemical text which wholly argues to abolish porn as know it.
The Sadean Woman by Angela Carter (1978) (have not read, but have heard it's a crucial text) The essay "The Pornographic Imagination" by Susan Sontag (p. dated, and I think published in the 60s and I haven't read it, but valuable in the context of analysis of pornography specifically in literature and text) Hardcore: Power, Pleasure, and "The Frenzy of the Visible" by Linda Williams (1989) Hard to Swallow: Hardcore Pornography on Screen edited by Claire Hines (2012) At Home With Pornography: Women, Sex, and Everyday Life by Jane Juffer (1998) (haven't read, but seen it cited in books above which I have)
Hope any of this helps. :)
Thank you! đź–¤
I've been meaning to read The Sadean Woman. All of these look really interesting.
Hopefully anon will see them here!
Edit: this is in response to this post.
