Wad held his face in his hands, his elbows resting on the table. He felt Oak sway back and forth next to him. They always ended up drinking just a little too much when they went out after a big exam. They had to release some of that pent up stress somehow.
The live music was a little too loud for such a small space but Wad found himself tapping his toes. He finally looked up. Oak had a glazed look in his eye as he and M were yelling towards each other. Tew was smiling wide, looking at his phone. Kongpob had migrated to the next table.
Wad glanced around him. Arthit, of course, was leaning into Kong, telling him something in hushed tones. Bright and Tuta were bickering with each other loudly. As per usual it seemed. Knot was seated next to Bright, his face illuminated by the small screen in his hand. He looked over to Premâ
And Prem was looking right back at him.
Wad looked down, back to his own table mates, quickly. He knew he was already flushed because of the alcohol but he felt even warmer; his ears even pricked with warmth.
He risked another glance upward, but there he was, still staring at him. He was smiling. Wad felt himself smiling too.
Prem had a certain charm that always threw Wad for a loop. They had talked about the past and apologized for what had happened but they never discussed the things that they were feeling at the current moment. Wad knew what he was feeling but he couldnât know for certain what Prem felt.
Until Prem was standing all of a sudden. And he was making his way right to Wad. He stopped right next to him, offering his hand.
âDance with me.â
âWhat?â
âThe music is good. I can see you tapping your feet. So come and dance with me.â
Wad just stared at the hand in front of him for a moment. He could feel the eyes of his suddenly quiet friends focused on him. But he was feeling good. He was feeling happy.
So he placed his hand in Premâs and let him lead him to the dance floor.
Premâs hands found their place on his lower back. Prem initiated the intimate position so Wad let his arms snake around Premâs neck. Prem led and Wad followed. They were both immune to the whooping and jeers from their drunk friends from the tables.
The song ended but the band somehow knew to let it fade into the next tune, slower than the first. Prem pulled him in closer as he slowed their movements to the pace of the music.
âP'PremâŚâ he started, not quite knowing where he was going with it.
âWe can talk about it now or we can dance. Iâm a little drunk so, I think, for now, we should just dance.â Was all he said in response. Wad knew it was probably for the best; he was extremely drunk himself. He let his head fall forward, against Premâs cheek. And they danced.
They seemed to have started a trend. More and more couples had made their way to the center of the bar, in front of the stage, to slow dance to the music.
âPlease Arthit. Weâre dating now, and I really would like to dance with you.â
âI donât dance Kongpob,â Wad heard Arthit argue, but everyone knew it was already a done deal. As much as Arthit likes to put up a fuss, Kongpob was going to get what he wanted. And they found their place on the dance floor right near Prem and him.
âWell everyone else is dancing! Damn Tuta, come on!â
âBright, are you kidding me?â
âNo, now come on!â And then those two were on the floor as well, a bunch of flailing limbs and high kicks.
Wad peeked around, still cozy in Premâs arms. He caught a glimpse of M making a break for the bathroom and Oak followed his friend close behind. He watched as Tew made eye contact with Knot across the two tables. He smiled to himself as he watched those two stand at the same time and make their way towards each other.
He nestled comfortably into Prem as they continued to move to the rhythm. He felt Prem pressed his lips against his forehead, lingering there for a quite a few beats.
And Wad just smiled and closed his eyes.

Tew was frantically cleaning up his dorm and listening to music. It was a Kpop radio station and he was just trying to make his living space presentable before a certain someone was supposed to be over.
As the last song ended, it was replaced with a soft voice backed by piano. He almost reached out to change it, as it was really ruining his vibe, but some lyrics caught his attention.
Youâre the one that's on my mind.
Iâm falling too fast, deeply in love,
finding the magic in the colors of you.
It was in English, but he understood the words and feelings perfectly. He smiled fondly as he returned to picking up his scattered clothes from the ground.
He ended up going back and replaying the song a few more times before there was a soft knock on his door. He quickly shut off the radio and went to open the door.Â
âHey!â Tew greeted him excitedly.Â
âHey you,â Knot said back, his smile warm, before leaning over to plant a sneaky kiss to Tewâs forehead. A deep blush crept onto Tewâs face, but he just bit his lip and let his boyfriend step inside. He placed the dinner he brought onto the table and started setting up. Tew stood back by the door, just watching Knot. He found himself humming that song from earlier, but Knot didnât mention it.Â
âAre you going to come eat or will I be having seconds?â Knot asked playfully. Tew grinned.
âDonât even think about it!â he exclaimed before joining Knot at the table. Tew felt his face flush again when he felt Knotâs foot graze his own. He remembered another line from the song all of sudden.Â
Cause youâre the right time at the right moment
Youâre the sunlight keeps my heart going
He was definitely going to have to make Knot listen to that song with him later.Â
Another Knottew drabble I wrote for @ming-kitty đ
Tew could smell whatever dinner Knot was cooking from all the way at the end of the hallway. It was his favorite part about having class late, his boyfriend would have dinner waiting for him and heâd be eager to hear about Tewâs day.
Tew smiled at the thought, and picked up his pace a little faster. When he opened the door he was quickly greeted by the warmth emitting from the kitchen. Then he was greeted by a kiss on his cheek by Knot who appeared in front of him
âHow was class? I hope you studied hardâ Knot smiled at him. Tew followed his lead inside, taking his spot at their kitchen table.
âIt was too loooong, especially since I knew what Iâd be coming home to tonightâ Tew tried to wink subtly at his boyfriend, who laughed at him gently.
âI know it must be hard keeping me out of your head,â he teased.
âWell I canât deny that,â Knot chuckled again before taking his spot across from Tew. âThis looks delicious babeâ
A sly grin formed on Knots face, âif you finish all your vegetables, maybe you can have dessertâ Knot told him, pulling off his wink flawlessly. Tew almost choked, having to gulp down water. His cheeks were flushed but he shamelessly stuffed all the veggies in his mouth one by one.
