Except BW and XYZ had more or less similar / overlapping writers. Dont forget Ash has lost in the quarterfinals before and he lost in the semifinals during Sinnoh.
I never said it was different writers, I just said their thinking was different. And yes Ash has lost in the quarterfinals before but he was less experienced then. And honestly, the fact that he lost in the semifinals in Sinnoh is the entire problem I have with BW, as it is literally the only time in the entire series where he does WORSE at the Pokemon League than he did last time. In BW they were like ”Eh, what were we thinking, semifinals was too good for Ash, let’s make him lose even earlier this time!” whereas XYZ was “You know what? I think he’s good enough to get 2nd!” And to widen the gap even more in terms of how skilled they seemed to think he is, in BW, he loses to an idiot with only 5 Pokemon to his 6, in XYZ he barely loses to a guy whose beaten an E4 member.

About work ethic. Neptune claims that relaxation is key to keeping a good mood and staying healthy, which in turn contributes to better production and creativity. Noire insists that such methods are a gateway to being lazy and stubbornly holds steadfast to her workaholic beliefs and practices. They agree to compromise so it doesn’t cause a rift in the relationship, but it doesn’t look like either will be changing their respective lifestyles anytime soon.

90% of the time Nep will tease so it looks like it’d be her, only Noire really gets to decide if something should happen. So technically I guess it’d be Noire, just not at first glance. Purple Heart is definitely the top, though.

Usually Neptune unless Noire’s feeling particularly strongly.

Yeah, Kanno's interactions with everyone this season have been cute. Also I had this goofy grin on my face when Sasha broke into tears about how worried she was for Nipa in ep 6. They're precious together.
