hello punch-out fandom, you may wonder why i didn't post my update on the punch-out saga...
that's because of course something HAD to go wrong at the finish line!!
*sits on the rocking chair* so two Saturdays ago (as of posting this) i got the game (punch-out Wii) pre-owned from a GameStop an hour or so away from me.
i was so excited to play it, that i made the unfortunate and rather stupid decision to not inspect the disc before i bought it. remember this.
so anyway, i get home, struggle a little to get the disc out since i barely remember how to get discs out of the cases- put the game in. it boots. it works!
...until i started beating up Glass Joe. the game would "crash" and not read the disc about halfway into his fight. i was like "oh fuck"...
so i inspected the disc. i saw two small deep scratches...that can't be fixed with the toothpaste method.
i thought it was over. that this journey was for nothing. that i was never gonna be able to play this without risking it all for a damaged copy...
but then i looked on mercari when i returned the copy to GameStop near me and saw a brand new, never been touched sealed copy of punch out with Nintendo selects (for people who don't know what that is, as far as i know, it's an extra graphic on the casing) and that is RARE.
a few days later i get the money from the refund and i immediately bought it. about four days pass and...
i get it today! yippee! it came sealed like what was promised, and i can say - the game WORKS!!!! THE GAME DOESN'T CRASH!!!!
and THAT is the end of this saga, i hope everyone enjoyed reading my suffering :D
