hey anon thank you so much for asking! sorry it took me so long to get back to you… i wanted to give you a good reference, and i was really out of practice drawing these two.

i’ve workshopped their designs so many times over the years, so i can’t guarantee these are the “best” versions, but, i like them at least! so hopefully this little design revamp is worth it. jackie’s more fiery, and his armor is visible, and ran got more dragony over time, which i think looks really sick.

Explanation of what's what and their respective books + authors are under the cut! I know at least one or two of these fandoms is the kind with a lot of drama, but know that I don't keep track of that stuff, I just enjoy the story and/or characters! Don't come after me thank you!!

I'm also probably not going to tag every single book that appears here since this is a multi-fandom piece (it might be confusing for someone recommended it who's only in one of these), some of the books are represented only by a small object in a corner, and some of these are so small they highkey probably don't have tags lol

actually, for funsies, since happy 4 years have some knifetrick headcanons

-Jackie is hard of hearing and has audio processing issues

-Ran needs glasses. Also he has astigmatism. Did not realize light didn't just Look Like That

-Jackie's favorite movie is princess bride. He made Ran watch it. Ran told him that Westley reminded him of Jackie and he thought about it for weeks after.

-Were they to play dnd, I think Jackie would play a rogue and Ran would play an artificer

-Ran fucking loves mangos.
