i was actually talking to macy / @cregcn about h.elaena during the hour of the wolf &. the fact that in the books the negligence of jaehaerys & maelor was never brought up as one of larys' charges is wild to me & i'm genuinely surprised that hadn't happened yet but. the realization that h.elaena slowly gets in her survival au when. not only were jaehaerys & maelor's deaths preventable (especially with her knowing he's a greenseer considering She's one herself & in my interpretation larys is actually the one to teach & train her about her own greensight & skinchanging abilities) but that a.egon ii was killed by him too & she was so blinded by her own grief & despair to see all of these horrible truths clearly. it like. shatters her. she's devastated. h.elaena brings herself to sit on the iron throne during the trials when c.regan is handing out judgement because a targaryen must always be on the iron throne & acts as aegon iii's regent; the barely concealed grief & horror on her face when she realizes all of it.
