So, right, yes. This desk killed my arms. My back is only just beginning to realize what I've done.
The desk is the PÅHL desk from Ikea, and technically a kid's desk meant to adjust higher as a child grows up. I needed something that would clear electrical outlets (which this desk does and then some, set to highest height) and be sturdy enough to hold ye old heavy TV. End result? Eh... if the last two screws would flippin' screw in flush, that would be nice, but it's stable enough for what I've done with it. A power drill with Phillips-head would have been nice but it would also strip out the screw-heads once you get them closer to screwed in. At that point, even using my screwdriver by hand was doing a number on the heads. And me.
Now, those grey organizer tubs? They're also from Ikea, KLÄMTARE brand, and they are fuckin' awesome. Seriously. Kinda bland on the color spectrum (and soooo don't go with the desk lol but then I wish the desk was black) buuuut they're very sturdy and the price is amazing for their size. And as you can see, two of the big ones fit side-by-side under the desk, along with one of the small ones. The small ones stack four high under the desk at max height, and the big ones stack two high. I checked for kicks, but as you can see in the pic, I'm only keeping a layer of one for the big tubs because consoles and the router are going on top of them, a nice spot with lots of air under the desk. The blue tub of "I have no idea where I even got this from" is going elsewhere.
Yup. Stuff. And things.
