seeing people defend kyle and pampering him, saying shit like "they're ruining kyle's life with these accusations, he's human, too! he didn't know any better, he didn't intentionally mean to be racist" is where i reach my breaking point.
like, are we talking about a 5-year-old boy who learned how to say the n-word after listening to a kanye west song... or are we talking about a 30-year-old man with no job, no house, who feeds off of tiktok revenue? let's be fucking serious. he's not a baby.
i don't give a fuck if he was "brainwashed" or he was a mormon.... he was a mormon.
kyle had ample opportunity to use this game as a learning experience about people of color, truly empathize with how taylor was treated, and speak up for what others were saying about her. once the LO's began, he treated taylor with the utmost grace and comfort and gave taylor a reason to like him, and even want to hang out with him in utah. he had charm and he was doing all of the right things to not only win his alliance over but win FANS over.
we all believed that he had a chance to change the narrative and learn from others. instead, he retrogressed and allowed his own negative beliefs affect his game play. that was HIS doing. he chose to label his allies as "aggressive" and "loud." he chose to isolate himself from people of color who liked him. he chose to isolate joseph and laugh at taylor's pain. but now that michael and brittany weaponized his racism and got him spiraling, we're supposed to feel bad?
mental health is important, but have we not learned from paloma? anyone can feel for someone with mental health issues but it does NOT excuse them for being racist shitbags. mental health issues does not include learning from dangerous environments and it's clear his mother and his family's religious practices were influences on him. this was his moment to learn. i'm sorry, but i don't fucking feel bad. white people will do EVERYTHING to defend kyle, and i'm over it.
fuck y'all.
