08/09/17 âȘ happy national book lovers day! iâm an avid bibliophile/book reader, so i just wanted to share some recommendations! these are all just my personal opinions. please slip into my ask box/messages to talk if youâve read any of these!! book lovers day post 1/3.Â
a summary, no-spoiler review, and rating for each book below the cut!
Most Anticipated: A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas
I had been waiting for this book for months and months, so when it came out, as you can imagine, I got it right away and blew through it! This is the third YA novel in the A Court of Thorns and Roses Trilogy. Â I am a big fan of this series and highly recommend it! Â
ACOWAR is about a young girl, Feyre, who fends for her poor family of four. One day as she is hunting, she sees a huge wolf and Feyre kills it with her bow. Â The next day, faeries cross over the Wall that separates them from the humans and demands for Feyreâs life, since the wolf she killed was their faerie comrade. But taking Feyreâs life doesnât mean they have to kill her. Â Before she knows it, sheâs being taken into the faerie lands...
New Favorite: An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
This book has been on my to-be-read for quite some time, but I finally got around to reading it and oh my goodness, SUCH A GOOD BOOK! I love her writing style!Â
This book is incredibly hard to summarize without spoilers? Please look up a description though, itâs really such a good book! Itâs young adult, action, adventure, fantasy, and a little bit of romance.
Favorite Reread: Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
I read this book about a year and a half ago, but I still reread it every once in a while and it makes me really happy! Â Itâs written in such a way that it is really easy to read even when youâre tired and can barely concentrate.
Carry On is about two boys, one of which is just super gay and wants love tries to deny his feelings for the other boy, while the other thinks he is his mortal enemy, all while at a magical school and trying to kill an evil that is plaguing their world.
Unexpected Favorite: The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee
I was really hesitant to read this book because it wasnât like most YA books I read (action, fighting, world destruction), but instead was more romance based. Â However, after @junebugstudies forced the book on me, and I read it, I became hooked. Â Though it does base more around the romance, it is a thrilling book!
Five people live very different lives, yet they are all the same. Â They all live in the building with a thousand floors, with your amount of money determining how high your floor number is, and therefore determining your place in society. Â One lower-floor girl who struggles to make a living for her sister, one center floor boy who can hack anthing, two upper floor girls who attend parties and buy things every week, and finally, the girl who lived in the thousandth floor. Â Somehow, their paths all cross, and spoiler: it ends badly.
aAaaaaa i hope you liked this! I have one more post coming soon!Â
