D - Dirty Secret

Hmm - okay, so...for Seb, it’s maybe how...intensely good, even sexual, Chris just petting him can be? Like, if Chris is just scratching behind his ears or the base of his tail, and he knows Chris isn’t even thinking of it that way, just thinking that Seb’s nice to pet and likes being petted, but...ooh, yes. Tingly all over. Like...maybe he’ll need to climb into Chris’s lap and get Chris’s hand somewhere else, sooner rather than later, please.

For Chris...it’s the part of him that...can’t help kinda liking Seb in heat? Like, there’s a part of Chris that hates it, too - that in some ways it’s almost dubious consent (not really, because Seb wants him, he knows that, they’ve talked about it), in the sense that Seb’s just lost to sensation, needing to get fucked, not entirely aware of much else...but also, and this is the part Chris is ashamed of, it’s so goddamn hot. Seb, his Sebastian, in their bed, back arched, hole all slick, moaning and begging Chris to fuck him? Yowling and pleading and coming all over himself the second Chris slides into him? God yes. Chris has some intense and complicated emotions about this.

H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.) 

Kitten!Seb suddenly has grooming instincts, which he’s a little embarrassed about at first, but Chris doesn’t mind and even thinks it’s cute, so that’s okay. He’s probably even more soft and fluffy - fuzzy ears and tail, and even thicker fluffy hair! He’s nice to pet.

Seb purrs after sex sometimes now. And does little kneading motions on Chris. He was also horribly embarrassed about that, especially the first time and especially if he hasn’t trimmed the claws. But Chris says it’s flattering, if Seb’s feeling that good, all drowsy and safe and happy, and a few tiny claw-pricks are just fine. (Seb keeps his claws trimmed down more bluntly now just to be sure of not poking too badly.)

Heh. That one...well, first, I might as well tell you all: the rewritten original-characters version of that one (plus two sequels, one of which I just finished writing) is getting published by Less Than Three Press later this year! So it’s kind of funny, going back to thinking about the fic version, because I’ve got the other characters in my head...

1 - what inspired you to write the fic this way?

Honestly, this was one of those fics that just...turned up and practically wrote itself. I’d been having random conversations with a lot of people about Sebastian liking cats ( @kittyseb, @viperbranium, @thebestpersonherelovesbucky) and while I was - I think while I was driving home from campus, it was - the first lines just appeared in my head. I wrote it super-fast and also linearly, which is actually unusual for me; I think I wrote start to finish except for skipping the actual sex bits because I had dialogue to get down, and then I put the anatomy bits back in, but it was all one writing session. So I don’t know if there’s a good specific answer other than ‘Sebastian Stan, cats, and time in the car.’ Though I was also listening to that Weezer album a lot, the one the title comes from.

14 - anything I wanted readers to learn from that fic?

I feel like saying “learn” is weird because that implies there’s a rhetorical or pedagogical element of instruction to it (is this just an odd question?), and so much of fic is about the embrace of pleasures, the worth of pleasure, both textual and bodily...but I guess that’s kind of an answer too, isn’t it? Especially with this fic, which someone called “very sex-positive” in a comment, and I had really just written that bit because it felt right, as a sort of reclaiming of Sebastian’s agency and pleasure, but in retrospect of course that’s why it felt right, so if there’s a message it’s probably that, about pleasure and sex and reclamation and positivity. Or that you should always rescue kittens caught in the rain. :-)

Let’s see, there’s already this bit of a small sequel floating around, but I shall see what else there might be...I suspect there’s a very sweet little moment when Sebastian comes back home to Chris, after having taken time to visit his mother...

In front of him, awkward and unsure and wanting badly to help, Chris pulls on the sleeve of the Patriots’ sweatshirt he has on. Pulls it down over his hand so that his arm is no longer showing. There’re scratches on his arms. Scratches that Sebastian’s put on that lovely skin in moments of sudden terror and mounting frustration. Chris. Whose arms’ve held him close and kept him warm and safe and loved.

“You were…” Sebastian smothers down a sob. “You were making tuna.”

“Oh.” Chris looks back at the mess on the floor. “Um. You haven’t eaten. Today.”

“I haven’t?”

As if waiting for the perfect moment to speak up, his belly grumbles in agreement to Chris’s observation. They both look down at it.

Sebastian mumbles, “Well just gang up on me then.”

Chris chuckles.

“I thought, if I made some tuna, um, maybe…” His words break away in well-intentioned uncertainty. “Did you want tuna? I could make something else. The doctors did said you might like, uh, creamy stuff now. Or I could try another type of fish?”

Chris abruptly turns and hurries back to the refrigerator, where Sebastian already knows there isn’t any other fish. There is plenty of frozen casseroles, courtesy of Chris’s mom, but no fish. As Chris rummages through the packed shelves, his warm, caring voice -- still fumbling over suggestions since they’ve been working on new likes and dislikes -- bathes Sebastian like the afternoon sunlight he was just napping in.

It’s brilliant, that voice. Honey thick and just as sweet, with Boston harbor peeking through whenever his passion shines bright. The greatest voice in the world. Sebastian loves that voice. Loves that it speaks for him and says his name and comforts him.

“I love you,” Sebastian blurts.
