Hey!! Just scrolled through all your Pegasi art and I LOVED it all, it’s such a creative and unique take on the pegasus!! I just have two main questions: as a prehistoric animal nerd, what would a prehistoric pegasus based on a terror bird look like, and what category of pegasus breed would real-life flightless birds like emus, ostriches and cassowaries fall under, especially since they’re all pretty large birds??
Hi there!
Aw yay, I'm so glad you've found my blog :)
A terror bird themed pegasi would be a Kingwing - a mythical pegasus in the world of Sky Cowboys who's basically the bigfoot of pegasi. They're huge, destructive, and constantly need to feed (usually on people).
Flightless birds like ostriches, emus, and cassowaries fall into the scrapwing category. These are small, feral, flightless pegasi that can't be domesticated. Their horse component are zebras, wild ass, and donkeys. They're found throughout the Wild Winds and are highly specialized to the specific island they live on. They're a staple prey for bushcats, wolves, and scavengers....if the predator can handle the scrapwing's "I-will-fight-God" attitude.
This one is quagga/dodo flavor.

So I'm doing JuFly this month! The first prompt is "Mythic".
The Kingwing
This is a Bigfoot style shortwing pegasus. Hulking, with multiple toes. Said to fight anything it comes across, and is superbly destructive. A good campfire story. Many claim to have seen it’s tracks.
