Kingscote in Newport is one of those great layered houses with original contents. built in the 1840s, it was enlarged under the direction of Stanford White in 1881. The dining room is one of the best Aesthetic Style interiors. LC Tiffany created the opalescent glass blocks, with White designing the woodwork, cork ceiling and fireplace. The sconces are in a pre art nouveau viney style. open to the public.
