    This is probably going to be a bunch of rambling. You know how much I like to talk. It’s really a problem, I should really stop talking so much, but I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for taking me in when I needed a place to stay and I don’t know if I ever told you, but a few months ago, my best friend left the city and I felt pretty lonely, so thank you for making me feel less lonely. You’re probably rolling your eyes at this and thinking that I’m putting too much thought into this and I probably am. And you probably don’t even consider me a friend. I’ve been told that I get too attached to people too easily, which is probably true. But because you took me in, I actually had the time to put more effort into my game and your helping me pursue my dreams, so I just wanted to let you know, that even if everything works out with my game, I’ll always help you out. I’d do anything for you, Riley.

Dear Basil, 

  There’s so many things that I want to bring up to you, but I know actually having a discussion about it might freak you out or at least you might be closed off to me. So a letter that you’ll never see might help me sort out my feelings. I might as fucking well do this, since I have to do this for my mother anyways. I know we’ve only been dating for a month or so and these questions don’t pop up in my head because I’m some desperate asshole looking for a long-term relationship, but I have them because I don’t know what’s going on through your head. Why are you with me and more importantly what do you want from this relationship? Am I just a convenient distraction? Would hearing something like I love you, scare you? I just want know what you want in life.

Hoseok has quite a lot of irrational fears, that maybe aren’t exactly phobias but still make him nervous. It’s hard to point out where his phobia lies -- his anxiety is mostly related to his social clumsiness and low self esteem. Perhaps one could say people are his biggest phobia. It’s not that he doesn’t like people and wants to be alone; he does get very lonely and longs for the company of others, but most people make him so nervous that he resorts to isolation to keep himself from getting hurt.

He has a fear of loud noises, of failure, of rejection, of sharp objects (that one he finds particularly weird and embarrassingly ironic). Sometimes just multiple people talking at once can send him into an anxiety attack. He fears confined spaces and dark hallways. Whispering -- ASMR gives him the creeps and makes him want to cry -- or sudden movements also trigger him. In short: Hoseok is almost always anxious and panicking for different reasons, whether he’s with other people or by himself.
