Could you do a general analysis on a Prince of Doom? Also awesome new blog! :)
well, this is six months late, but hey, at least iâm doing it now!
so a prince is the active destruction class. most people agree that they tend to âghostâ their opposite aspect as a result of destroying their own aspect, but they do it in a way thatâs still ultimately in line with their own. the easiest way to tell which aspect they are, in my opinion, is to look at their view of the world. one of our canon princes, for example - dirk, the prince of heart, seems pretty mind-y at first, but you can tell from his struggles with and focus on the self that heâs a heart player! i think in most cases princes simply dislike their aspect and want to get rid of it, but this desire usually comes from viewing themselves as inadequate in some way. they want what the opposite aspect has, why canât they be like that?
doom is the aspect of rules/limitations, structure, fate, and sacrifice. itâs the acceptance to lifeâs refusal to give up. doom and life both involve rules and adaptation - life breaks rules and adapts in order to change the game, while doom generally works within rules and adapts to them, finding a way to do what they want while staying within the system of rules theyâre confined to. this doesnât apply perfectly to every class, of course - witches of doom would change the rules, though still not technically breaking them.
princes of doom, on the other hand, would break the rules. theyâre striving to be more like a life player, so they act like one. theyâd definitely be the type to go against authority figures, but along with refusing limits as they come, theyâd probably also go out of their way to break rules, even when itâs not really necessary. theyâre a rebel for sure, causing problems and disorder wherever they go. they hate being told what they can and canât do.
the fact of the matter, though, is that they arenât a life player. their aspect is doom, whether they like it or not. theyâre never going to be able to change that about themselves no matter how hard they try. instead, they should accept it. this is the case for all princes, but especially for this one, with doomâs focus on acceptance and sacrifice. they essentially need to learn not to destroy the good parts of doom, to appreciate them and understand that theyâre necessary while eliminating the bad parts both for their own benefit and for the benefit of their team.
powerways, the prince is a force to be reckoned with. the most immediately obvious application is breaking the rules of sburb itself. after all, it is a game - it relies on a system, and the prince could wreak havoc on that system in all sort of fun ways. maybe theyâd destroy limits, allowing their attacks to do more damage than what should be possible. sprites are game constructs and also very associated with doom, so maybe theyâd be able to kill them? iâm not sure why theyâd do that, but hey, sburb sessions are weird, it might be needed somehow.
they could possibly even just straight up break the game, causing it to glitch or otherwise not function correctly. weaponizing glitches could be a powerful strategy, but theyâd have to be careful not to do anything that would permanently damage the game so as to avoid making it unwinnable.
looking more at the fate aspect of doom, the prince could defy prophecies and anything else thatâs supposedly destined to occur. they refuse to let anyone or anything decide their fate for them. if the session is doomed, theyâll be the one to find a way out, or even a way to somehow win anyway.they could also destroy with doom, using rules and restrictions against their enemies. maybe by imposing limits upon them and preventing them from doing certain things, otherwise they take damage? i feel like they could have some kind of effect, like⌠their attacks have a chance to doom the enemy, causing them to be fated to die.
i hope this is satisfactory! let me know if you have any more questions!!
Can I get a Prince of Doom analysis?
The Prince of Doom is someone who Destroys Rules, Restrictions, Inevitability, Futility, Obligations, Pessimism, Decay, and Lacking Energy.Â
Princes of Doom are fervent people. They are filled to the brim with determined Energy and tend to be larger-than-life people, Powerful and Optimistic to a fault. They are constantly Changing and evolving, almost unable to stop things from influencing who they are and what they do; they are activists for Change and embody that wholly, expecting nothing to ever stand still.
They can be highly contradictory people as a result. They can rally everyone behind an idea for Change and Growth - and believe completely in this idea as the best way to attain what they Desire - but then utterly denounce that thing weeks or months later with scathing hatred. As soon as something is âoutâ, or has lost its spark, or even slightly hinders the cause for Progression, the Prince of Doom will show no mercy in Destroying that which they once saw as their sole cause.Â
Hey Scar! How've you been dude?
Graeeee I've been pretty okaayyy how are youu
Could you do an analysis of a Prince of Doom?
I sure can try!
PRINCE: one who destroys aspect, or destroys through aspect
DOOM: fate, death, sadness, limits, rules
So, this Prince is actually a really useful one to have on your team! One who can destroy fate, death, sadness? Amazing! Just imagine it - this Prince could destroy doomed timelines to avoid the session ending up like those. The Prince could destroy limitations and rules set by the game - opening up a world of new possibilities for them and their team. This player is the burning book rebel, reckless, full of energy and reject any rules or limitations placed on them by outright breaking them. They can make others optimistic, even frantic, by destroying the things that limit or restrict them. They free people from their any emotional, mental or even physical barriers that they perceive, even if a person doesnât want to be set free and are comfortable within their limits! Incredible, right? Especially in SBurb.
Prior to god tiering, this person might be one who just doesnât care about rule or law. They think it fun to find any loophole in the law, to find any way to sneak under the radar while still doing some crazy, half-illegal act. They donât like to be held down by rules or regulations - they might not even wear a seatbelt. Ha! However, this player would hate being told no or that they canât do something, but are more likely to simply destroy or kill the person who said no then prove them otherwise. Theyâd find any way to get around rules - and make damn sure nobody ever doubts their ability if itâs the last thing they do.
A good land for this title would be Land of Gates and Cities [LOGAC]
A good strife specibus for this title would be bombkind, flamethrowerkind, etc! Crazy outrageous things.
Overall, this title is pretty wild and crazy and can be hard to trust - but their abilities will come in handy no doubt in the session.

Arc words for a Prince of Doom?
âListen up, Simon. Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me! Believe in the Kamina who believes in you!â
