Markus had finished his speech that Roxy wrote and even from the first time he spoke it he knew Roxy deserved way more credit than she was getting. He turned to her where she stood near Iris and Rowan and waved her over, "This moment doesn't solely belong to me and my family. There has been a guiding light through this decision. She has given me honest truth when it comes to her beliefs as a hybrid. If not for her taking a chance on me, I may not have ever understood how wrong vampires were for their beliefs of the hybrid people we share a vampiric bond with." He smiled at her, bowing his head at her, before wrapping an arm around her shoulder, "I would like to speak privately after this. I have not showed my thanks for you nearly enough. I have a few gifts for you."

"Roxy did an amazing job on the speech. I hope you don't mind me gifting her a few things." He smiled wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and resting his head on her shoulder. "You are the most beautiful woman I have seen tonight. Don't tell Iris." He smiled kissing her cheek before his brow raised at her, "after this we get that vacation River and Jackson are forcing us to take." He smiled sitting down on the arm of a chair. "I'm looking forward to enjoying our time together with the girls."

Markus had plans to connect with all the leaders, he wanted to feel out where they all were with the immortalem issue and what they planned to do. Finn was his first stop, for more than one reason. "I've been looking for you. You think we could step aside and talk? I got some thing I need to ask of you. Nothing to do with our plan we had, this is more of a request."

"Thank you for joining me." Markus said sitting in his seat next to Luca and smiling. "Rowan of course wants you to enjoy yourself too and I thought this way you still had some sense of duty." He chuckled, "she cares for you a great deal, and I consider her more than blessed to have someone she trust able to keep her safe as well. How are you adjusting to Scarlett too?" His brow raising, knowing he wasn't the only one having to adjust to the baby that had joined their family. He probably had the most adjusting to do but by asking others maybe he wouldn't be alone in it.

Where: Wedding Reception

Markus​ had mostly been observing and trying his best to ensure that Rowan had the best time she could at the wedding. He was standing at the door watching everyone as he drank his drink and blood mix. Swirling the glass as he listened to some people’s gossip and whispers about this union. 

He rolled his eyes, “some people just can’t enjoy a good party I see. Where ever that feisty wedding planner is I should go find her.” His brow raised at the others, “or the guards. It really just depends on if I should cause a large scene or not. What do you think?”

Markus waved over his sister with a smile unable to keep himself from giving her a hug while still sipping from his glass. “Hopefully you are taking advantage of today and having fun too? I see several people are already letting loose and it feels like this just started.” He chuckled kissing the top of her head, “never thought I would be here, Dee. Even for a political reason and now honestly, I just want Rowan to be happy. I’ve always been told this is bigger for women. So I want it to be the best day for her.”

It was rare to find Markus anywhere but his desk but today he was in an off putting sitting room with everything shut. Laid out on the couch. He had gone through so much in the last few weeks and he realized he had yet to inform his closest friend. 

“Jackson” 

He said his hand still over his eyes but hearing the door open alerted him. He sighed and sat up resting his elbows on his knees as he turned to face his friend. “I have so much to tell you. It’s probably best that you sit down.” He squared his shoulders and sat up in his typical straight position. “So first off, I hope you have been well, and I hope that some of this news doesn’t deter you from supporting me further.” 

“I’ll start with the easiest first, Rowan has proposed marriage to form an alliance between Southland and Northland Falls.” he took a deep breath, “and I have accepted.” The next was harder, explain that his sister was alive from his human life definitely wasn’t something he expected to be sharing and he thought it was the lighter of the next two pieces of information he needed to share. 

“When I was human, I had a family. I left them behind once I was turned for fear that I would harm them or put them in danger. My sister is miraculously alive, and apparently an Immortalem.” The legend was well known to all and Jackson had at least heard him mention them. 

He sighed, sitting back down again and his icy stare met his dear friends, “and I have mated with Iris.” He pointed to some books on a nearby table and sighed, “I have put in hours of research to see if there is anyway to break this bond, but unfortunately it ends in either of our deaths, and as much as I would love to end her, I’d much rather see her suffer.”​
