Vada had only made one suggestion for her bachelorette party and that was karaoke. She knew her sister would pull through with a fun time either way but karaoke sounded like an amazing time. She was a couple drinks in when she took her chance at the mic to sing Good in Bed by Dua Lipa. When she finished she plopped down on a couch watching the next person before smiling at the person next to her, "are you having a good time? I hope so! This is a blast so far."

Procuring friends is not as glamours as people may think; it was the least favorite part of being a prominent ruler of Lume Noua. Everything was spoken in code and deals were made between the main and desert courses rather than over a shared diplomatic table. Louisa was glad that she spent her formative years at university studding the collections of Renaissance art rather than courtly mannerisms and the language of alliances. 

She donated half of her family collection of Northland landscape canvases to the Eastland’s botanical garden for it’s newest installment, which required her presence at it’s grand opening. Not something that she’s choose to do, but at least the wine was good. 

She was standing alone in the humid haze of the garden. She tried not to make too much movement, she was scare she’s melt out of her dress. She made a note to herself to never throw a party in a greenhouse: it’ll only get hotter as the night wanes on...

            “If you’re looking for someone to pay for your drinks, try someone else.” If he’d known about the dress code, then he would have stayed home for the night instead of listening to the annoying voice in his ear that kept him from getting any rest. If anything, he’d come to appease them and get a drink or two before heading back home for the rest of the night. But he’d seen a few people react weirdly to the drinks, which left him sticking with the same beers that he always drank. “I mean it. I’m wearing the costume of someone with more patience than I usually have.”

Clarae couldn’t remember how much time had passed since the life she thought she had was torn from her hands. With the amount of time she spent in bed, it could be days or weeks for all she knew. She rolled onto her side and some of her curls fell into her face. With an annoyed breath she tried to blow them away, catching the less than pleasant scent of her breath. When was the last time she’d brushed her teeth? Or even showered? With the weight of her grief and confusion trying to push her down, Clarae fought her way out of the bed and into the shower. She stared at herself in the mirror after, trying so hard to find pieces of the girl she thought she was in the reflection. She didn’t recognize the eyes staring back at her, heavy and dark, and it was too much. Tearing herself away, Clarae threw on an old dress and darted out the door.

She ended up wandering the streets for awhile before eventually following a group of strangers into a part of the Dark World she’d have avoided before...everything. Following them she found herself in an old building with a smudged X on the back of her hand. There were bodies everywhere with too many lights casting shadows all over, making Clarae feel disoriented. She tried to shield her eyes and ended up running into someone.

“Shoot, I’m sorry.” She wasn’t sure they could hear her over the pounding music, but she didn’t want to upset the wrong person. 

Where: Southland Early in the day before the wedding. 

“No RSVPs...no problem. Food for everyone, essentially make it enough? Great okay! People are smuggling food in early. I saw a pregnant woman with an entire pan of cupcakes. Not for the guests for herself. This will not stand! We will be sitting, respecting, or so help me I will siphon the magic out of all of you and you sill sit there upset and docile until this wedding is done!” Roxy ranted to a group of people that she had detained for one reason or another. 

She heaved a sigh as she let some of them pass, mumbling as she caught sight of an onlooker. “I’m already letting tacky outfits in. I feel like that was a kindness. Maybe? Was I too harsh?” she started to second guess herself.

Not once, in Kingsley’s life, had he ever been summoned to attend a wedding. A few months ago, along with most in Lume, King had been conned into attending the leaders of the Dark World’s wedding. But that was different. ...At least, it felt like it’d been.

So far, the guardian witch was having a great time. He’d just left the station where the games of poker, roulette, and other card games had been set up. Wisely, his pockets were a little heavier than they were when Kingsley arrived at those tables. In a good mood, he laughed to himself, the sound lost to the roar of the music around him in the ball room. His gaze and attention landed on a sight - where one party of a pair looked to be in discomfort. “Excuse me,” Kingsley began, interrupted the conversation. “Would you like to dance?” He asked, giving the guest an out, if they wished, as he sent them a polite smile.

Taking time off work wasn’t something Egan did often.  Even if he didn’t spend money in his time away from the brothel, the idea of actively not making money tended to put a pit in his stomach.  But after the invitations had gone out, and he pretty much saw a chance for a free visit to Eastland, the place he so desperately wanted to be, the reason why he was so obsessed with making money, he couldn’t pass it up.  But if he was going to be away from work, he was going to get his money’s worth, even if it was all free of charge.  So that’s why after finding his rooms on the riverboat casino, a single bed, he quickly came up with a scheme.  He returned to the front desk, a crowd of people waiting for their room assignments and keys, and he scanned the crowd, looking for the best option.  

“Hey, go with what’s about to happen, and I’ll make it worth your while,” he promised, but didn’t give them a chance to accept or decline before throwing an arm around them, and looking to the employee doling out rooms, and hoping desperately that his assumption of couples getting a king or at least a double bed was correct. 

Almira was bold by nature, rarely did she falter, and she was brave down to her bones.  But tonight, she was a bit shaken.  To be fair, last time she had attended festivities like tonight’s she had been knocked over the head, thrown over a caveman’s shoulder and kidnapped along with many others.  So sue her if she was a little on edge, peering over her shoulder every few steps as she made her way back from the facilities to the main crowds surrounding the stage.  With no desire to once again feel like a damsel waiting to be rescued (despite the fact that she had given it to the kidnappers, only to receive it back in kind), Almira had come prepared this time.  A homemade mace of sorts, carried in her hand whenever she left the crowd.  But perhaps she was a bit too trigger happy.  She whipped around, weapon in hand and prepared to cause someone a metric shit tonne of pain, only to catch herself as her eyes fell upon her almost victim.  Thank Gods she had fast reflexes.

“Jesus, warn a bitch!  You almost just won a prize of hellfire to the eyes.” She exclaimed, hand to her chest in a poor attempt to calm her heartbeat.
