What if the mystical monkey power only works in the presence of monkeys. This is why we only can see it while he fights Monkey Fist.
Monkey Fist himself wouldn’t notice anything is wrong, as he’s always with monkeys, and might even count as a monkey himself.
(Also I like how the monkey ninjas only attack one or two at a time like all the other ninjas you see)
