1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

It has to be Dio/Luna (Sorry! :-/). I can sort of see why that one AB game might get people thinking about it. But there’s nothing else, and Dio’s vote there has a perfectly good strategic reason instead.

Plus it requires completely skipping through Luna’s route so that you don’t pay too much mind to what Luna’s actually like.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

Not really? I don’t ship enough to have had many chances for other fans to ruin pairings of mine.

11. Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

I don’t know if he counts as ‘unpopular’, but the ZE fandom is definitely sleeping on K. Guy who can snark up there with the rest of them while stuck in a suit of armour, without recourse to facial expressions and while having his voice flattened out by modulation? Get us some more of that!

19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?

In Zero Escape... maybe the bitching about ZTD? It was flawed, yes, but still worth having. And every time that particular conversation comes around, I have to either ignore it or start bitching about the flaws in 999.

20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?

APRIL FOOLS i ended up not getting back to my laptop all day so instead i’m answering this now!! (i technically wrote it up at night but it’s hella late so fuck that queue it up i say!)

nick/john to me doesn’t even seem like it SHOULD be a rarepair honestly. it baffles my mind! i’ve been in the fandom biz for a long time and let me tell you, usually the two hot men with a bitter rivalry are a shoo-in for fandom shipping.  nick and him have been fighting for at least a year, likely 2-5, which leads to a lot of animosity and pent up aggression. you can’t tell me john didn’t enjoy waving his multi-million dollar mansion and his fancy plane collection in nick’s face at every opportunity!  you can’t tell me nick never openly antagonized john outside the spread eagle just to see john turn red and get so angry he might cry!  there are more sleepless nights lost to fantasizing about beating each other up between them than they would ever admit!!!  before the deputy showed up honestly i bet the ryes got lots of john’s attention.from there it’s simple shipping mathematics - two passionate men polarly opposing each other both morally and physically? that’s a perfect 10, buddy!!!

i can’t talk about the ot3 without talking about kim/john at least a little bit!!  mostly because kim/john has some minor canon to back it up, although not in any concrete way. mostly it’s the whole “john spread rumors nick wasn’t the dad” shit that i think one of the notes talks about??? which is obviously john being a PETTY BITCH about coming on to kim and getting summarily turned down. because while john might be hot, and he might be rich, he isn’t the foolhardy, golden-hearted aviator she married. but refusing john is no doubt a quick way to get the guy obsessed over you.  i mean look at how he reacts to the deputy!!!i will fully admit however that i don’t think about kim/john at all as a solo ship. it’s 100% because i can’t imagine kim choosing john over nick if she had to make the choice.  THANKFULLY SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO CHOOSE

kim/nick/john is the natural progression of things and HONESTLY the only way i can see the ship nowadays. kim/nick is the powerhouse couple of fc5 (proven in new dawn when kim is the de facto leader of the resistance and nick is her hot damsel-in-distress husband) and it’s for good reason!  they both seem to share a similar set of morals, which means that they can approach problems from the same angle. they also clearly have healthy communication and support each other, which is why they managed to survive EIGHT YEARS of isolation in close proximity and still remain happily married!!!  to me, the ot3 is the only way any of the relationships can remain sustainable.  nick without kim around would eventually beat john to death, and kim without nick would probably wind up as a high-ranking cultist.  but if you give nick someone to reel him back before he lets his temper get the best of him, and if you give kim somebody to have her back when she has to put her foot down, suddenly the ryes aren’t such easy pickings!i like to think that kim and nick give john some real, serious opposition before we show up.  a lot of it is headcanon but generally speaking, they refused to sell their land, refused to listen to john’s spiel and ignored his letters begging them to reconsider.  sure, john’s image was at stake, and he wouldn’t want to disappoint joseph by failing to secure community leaders like the ryes and pastor jerome, but i genuinely believe that john at least understood the kind of positive force the ryes can serve as.  they’d be perfect people to help reshape the world for the better, so no wonder he wanted them in the cult.delving fully into headcanon, wellllllllllllllllll lets just say, if nick and kim could have flipped john on the cult just by being decent neighbors who also happened to be in a secure marriage where they BOTH found john attractive (but wished he was less of a dick)???????? i would not have complained in the slightest. actually it’s all i think about sometimes.  even without the romantic aspect, can you just IMAGINE what might’ve happened??? like, if nick and kim made it their mission to murder john seed purely through hospitality and kindness??? john’s trauma is honestly a HUGE weak link in their chain of command but it would be hard to take advantage of.  i mean, unless you were a couple of hot millenials with your own family issues and maybe a few college psych courses under your belt.  if you were that kind of couple, and you were able to paint a stark difference between your own honesty and the aggressive, secretive nature of his brother, i mean, maybe a guy like john seed would start to have second thoughts about the whole doomsday cult thing.
