I’ve already hit my first road block with my kidney donation tonight - my mother. She wasn’t very... enthused about my choice. I was really let down, if I’m being honest. I thought she’d be very happy for me, and we could go through this journey being happy together.
I let her words sit with me awhile before we both had another talk about it. Basically, she said she was worried about my finances since I’d be out of work for a month. But, the thing is, my fiancé is getting a really good job soon, and I already talked it through with him, and he’s more than comfortable paying the bills for the month that I will my out of commission. Not only that, we’re doing a LOT better than we were doing at the other house (mostly because we were both unemployed for a small amount of time (due to things out of our control).
At the end, my mother said she would be by my side and back me up, and that she was proud of me. I just really hope she gets over her worrying soon lmao. But she IS a mother, and I’m her youngest, so I know that most likely won’t happen.
