This is Kiare, “Mother of Pearl”, or the homebrewed daughter of Melora that I made for my campaign. She was the introductory piece for a later Godspawn arc that I’d go into if my players had finished this arc and wanted to keep going.
She is the patron of the now-sunken and ruined city of A’Tegna and creator of Merfolk. After being banished to the Elemental Plane of Water in a war against the Demogorgon, her most loyal followers chose to pursue her, so she sculpted them in her image to adapt them to their new life on the water plane.
Merfolk who left to investigate what happened were corrupted by the Demogorgon’s influence once they were beyond Kiare’s protection, turning them into the Merrow that now prowl the ruins.
She creates giant pearls the size of baseballs under her tongue that serve as spell conduits. They can store up to a fourth level spell, or be permanently enchanted as a planar gate component. The cabochon in her stomach is made of Nacre (Mother of Pearl).
I shall add that this form is her Godly version of lounging around in sweatpants. As soon as she realized she had company, she flicked her tail and it burst into lots of impressive fabric and all that regal biz. Not having outside company for centuries leads to decades-long depression naps, so she wasn’t prepared for putting on a show.
