Seriously, I’ve been having these thoughts ever since I’ve first watched the movie months ago and maybe it’s because I do not engage with people in fandom but I have not seen anyone talking about this at all

Zoey took them home, she lived pretty nearby. Next day, knocking came to her door and she was greeted by the two most beautiful women she has ever seen in her life. Theyre her wives now? Shes their husband?? SELKIES ARE REAL????

Every selkie knew, from the history of encounters, that humans were to never be trusted. As early as them being pups, every selkie knew of the stories of the unfortunate selkies that were forced to leave their pods behind because of a human's greed. If there is anything each of the selkie pods in the world followed, it's these instructions:

If you go Surface, hide your pelt properly. Do NOT let a human find your skin. If it’s found, say your goodbyes to the sea

NEVER trust a human, they will ALWAYS be greedy

Rumi and Mira knew of these rules. Theyve always been so careful of making sure their pelts were hidden away whenever they Surface to know and learn of the human world throughout the years, both of them curious about it despite the risk of Surfacing poses. Theyve always been a little too daring, too curious to really let the stories get to them too much. And after years of Surfacing, with no close calls of a human ever finding their precious skins, theyve become too comfortable

They were both gone

"Oh shit" as humans say

Theyve been told how these stories go. Theyve said goodbye to the sea. But NOW theyre confused—their fear, sadness, anger feeling muted—when the pelts were draped back over their shoulders. The human woman—their husband, ex husband??—frantically apologizing and bowing

Rumi and Mira were just free to go? They wont be kept prisoned? They can go back to the sea? The human doesnt want a wife, two wives? Not trusting all of this to not be just a trick, the two ran while the human was still blurting out apologies

The two watched from the sea, as the human cleaned the beach the next day. Their curiosity was nagging at them again. So they left their coats in an easier spot to be found, not even halfway buried in the sand

Rumi and Mira, back in human forms, watched from a distance as the woman found them. Panicked expression, head snapping left to right and not finding the ones who possessed these coats. They observed all of that. They also observe hands digging into the sand until a considerably deep hole was made and those hands delivered the coats inside and brushed the sand back in place. Then the human continued with her clean up

Rumi and Mira decided to keep doing this. And every time, besides that very first, the human never took their coats. Always hiding it in the sand for them properly, making sure they were placed delicately. This is not how the stories went. Why??

Theeen after two weeks of this, Rumi and Mira just came as Zoey was digging, asking "Why dont you want us?"

Zoey's very confused, and trying to hold back from throwing questions at them that shes been thinking about for weeks because she is a nerd wowowow SELKIES ARE REAL. "What? Werent you two the ones who literally said you dont want a human husband last time? That youre together?"

Polytrix Beauty[ies] and the Beast AU with 3 twists

Zoey was cursed because both her parents were assholes to the Enchantress, who turned up to their house hidden in the forest during a horrible, stormy night. The Enchantress could see their relationship was doomed with all the building resentment and anger the two have

“If you two could learn to love one another, and learn to love your child like this by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, your daughter would be doomed to remain a beast for all time”

They werent turn to objects. Only Zoey is the one turned into a beast in this dumb AU of mine

After a few years of continued arguments and not being able to handle the responsibility that comes with having to raise Zoey as she was, they both soon just fucked off and left

Zoey is affected by this more than the curse. She had hoped that regardless whether her parents learned to love each other in time or not to break the curse, that they would still stay and love her anyway, even if they did not love each other

But they didnt stay and that hurt more than this curse ever couldve. Lonely Zoey :((

Anyway, skip to both Celine and Rumi making their way through the forest another few years later

Celine was fearful of this big, sad creature. Zoey wanted to convince them to stay for a week at most to finally have company. She has been trying to do this for a while now but people just keep running away screaming

Rumi, who listened and understood that Zoey just wanted company not in a permanent way, took advantage of Celine misunderstanding of the situation because she wanted to take a break from Celine’s pressure and overprotectiveness so she offered to stay and for Celine to “be set free”

Celine, thinking that Rumi will be kept in that house forever, rushed to the town but wasnt given help because people know Rumi is Smart and that Celine is most likely misunderstanding the situation

“Take a chill pill, Celine” -The Entire Town

Then there is Mira. Always butted heads with Rumi and got into little arguments. Mira is actually flirting but she herself doesnt know she is. Got too used to the dynamic to realize that Oh. I like her. Rumi is the the same

Essentially, this is a crack AU where Rumi and Mira are idiots in love with each other but dont know it. Zoey is making them Feel Things too

Zoey is very aware she Has Feelings for them

She also quietly figured out that the only way to break the curse is through the poly route because it hinged on two other people learning to genuinely love the other and love Zoey as she is as the Beast

So Zoey to herself was like “Yeah, parents were a no go. With them? Poly will break this curse.” THIS is the first twist

The second? Zoey actually loves being a Beast, her [redacted] is fun too so she kind of doesnt want to be changed back. Cue Zoey trying not to be such a big puppy and loveable dork because it has Rumira down bad for her, just until the last petal falls, but also trying to get Rumira together because those oblivious idiots need the help

It ends up with Rumira finally realizing their feelings with said help. Like THAT happened a second before the last petal fell

And much to Zoey’s disappointment, as she began to float and shine, she found out that Rumira actually realized their feelings for Zoey way before they had for each other

The third twist, fourth if you were to ask me, is the Enchantress coming back to the house to check up on the Assholes with the Sweet Child after she felt the curse breaking, only to see two woman who arent the Assholes gawking at a pouting Zoey

Zoey’s short now WHAT THE FUCK

But she is so cute and also hot even in her human form so they are not actually complaining. Just whiplashed from having to crane their necks to look up at Zoey before to now having to look down

AU ends with Enchantress deciding to grant Zoey a wish, because wow pretty messed up you cursed a child just to punish her parents, like who really was the asshole there

Rumira's answers to Zoey are like [+ still oblivious]: "We just miss you" "We're all still adjusting" "We just want you to be careful, we're worried"

Zoey, still upset but took their concern seriously, during the next hangout: "Khon, can you strip?"

And Khon did strip after Zoekhon had a small argument and all that Zoey found out is that Khon is actually tatted and just decided to hide the tattoos

I have three “main” Khontrix AUs. All of them have an established relationship. Polytrix WILL happen but Khontrix is endgame

Also these writings are all within the “Rumira AU” because I have Zoekhon brainworms. I arranged them chronologically but keep in mind that there are stuff that still occurs in between some and things dont happen right away between each writing

I do not consider myself as a writer so do not expect these to be Good. I’m just someone who is very indulgent to the point of attempting to write
