Here's sorta my reasoning as to why I headcanon khajiits as mer
Because Ohmes and Ohmes-Raht khajiits are described as "mer-like" they pretty much bare the appearance of a bosmer with cat like features
Why would the most human looking members of the khajiit race be described as looking like mer if they weren't mer?

Ok, so I think it's pretty obvious. Most Khajiits probably don't like to get their fur wet. especially real fluffy ones.
But what about Ohmes Khajiits? The human like ones????
I gotta know, do they just look dumb to every other race? Like khajiits bare their fangs (I think that's how you say it) when ever in combat. Would the Ohmes also do that? Imagine a Bosmer just fucking hissing at you. Would that look really dumb or would it actually be a little scary?
Or like a Bosmer whining about getting wet, because some Ohmes do have "light fur" and i think some have tails. Would they just get weird looks after saying shit like "guys, I'm gonna get my fur wet 😔😔😔" "Do you realize how long this takes to dry?"
*stares at you in lesbian yearning*
Some examples of what ohmes and ohmes-raht khajiit could hypothetically look like if they were to be included in the games again, no full body pics since I obliviously can't include tails on the breton bases for the ohmes-raht
You could also put khajiiti style hats and helmets on them, like the furry gang in the Reaper's March outlaws' refuge
