#kh1 analysis

Keyblade wielders were already scarce before Birth by Sleep. Between BbS and KH1 the only active wielder that we know about is Mickey. That's it. He's the only one. The only ones that know about Keyblades at all(as far as who was seen in KH1) are the Final Fantasy Traverse Town group, King Triton, Ansem SoD, and Maleficent. The other Disney villains only knew because of Maleficent.

Sora is the only person in about 10 years or so to get a Keyblade. With Mickey busy in the Realm of Darkness, Sora is the only one who can stop the Heartless and protect the worlds. Between the FF gang, Triton, and Maleficent I'm sure their knowledge on the Keyblade isn't anywhere near perfect. So, especially with the FF gang, it makes sense that they call Sora the Keyblade Master as if he's the only one. Cuz in the moment he really is the only one. He's everyone's last hope.

This one has a small door that makes me think of the dwarves's house in Snow White.

This one obviously has the same aesthetic as the woods in Sleeping Beauty.

And this one, I'm not too sure about but it makes me think of the outside area where Cinderella dances with Prince Charming.

"Extract the darkness from a person's heart. Cultivate darkness in a pure heart. Both surpress and amplify the darkness within."

Remind you of anything?

"If I must I will extract the darkness from within you myself."

I know Maleficent changed some stuff when she took over, but seeing the worst looking version in 1 makes me wonder what all those locations exclusive to 1 look like when fully restored and back to the way things were in BbS. I just really want a detailed map that shows the whole castle with the proper layout and what leads where and what purpose all these rooms had.

Obviously they're useful for getting around since most of the castle is in shambles. But they seem absolutely ridiculous and tedious to have around any time before Radiant Garden was destroyed. The lifts are mostly on the outside of the castle and in no version of the castle outside KH1 do we see evidence of the lifts existing.

They also seem to run on magic. In BbS there's no proof magic is being used anywhere in Radiant Garden. The whole place is run on the energy produced in the reactor and possibly even by using water as well considering how much of it is around.

There's also a lot of changes to the castle that were clearly done by Maleficent. During KH1 she's also in charge of the place. So it's pretty safe to say she put the lifts and lift shop in place to get around the castle. But it's still stupid since she can use portals to get around. She doesn't need the lifts. And the other villains have no need to 'explore' the castle since they only stay in the Chapel to have their weird Disney villain meetings.

"I confined those who had completely lost their hearts beneath the castle."

Which, first off, means he's putting lifeless bodies in the basement. Don't forget Walt-fucking-Disney owns at least half of Kingdom Hearts here, and they allowed this!?

Anyway, if a person of strong will loses their heart that makes a Nobody. But here it seems to imply it makes Heartless instead since it goes on to say-

"Some time later, I went below and was greeted by the strangest sight. Creatures that seemed born of darkness..."

Later in Report 3 he even says-

"Those who lack hearts... I will call them Heartless."

So a body without a heart made a Heartless??? In the exact same way a Nobody and only a Nobody should be made??? The Heartless are the hearts, are they not? Because when defeated, Emblem Heartless release hearts. So Heartless shouldn't be anywhere near a body without a heart!

Report 4 makes it even weirder-

"The hearts taken by the Heartless become Heartless themselves."

So it contradicts itself? Because the first time around there were no hearts in those bodies for Heartless to show up in their places. And this time around it's specifying the hearts become Heartless, which is true! So if they have no hearts, how can hearts turn into Heartless!? That would make the Heartless, well, hearts! And we already know Emblem Heartless have hearts! So if there were no hearts to take, how could there be Heartless!?

Then Report 10 just confounds me-

"Yes, that's it. The Heartless come from people's hearts, as does the darkness."

But the first time they didn't! There were no hearts! In! Those! Bodies!

Report 2 even says-

"The expirements caused the test subjects' hearts to collapse [...] My treatments produced no signs of recovery."
