god one of the most beautiful things about kazetsuyo is how incredibly full of love kakeru actually is. when we first meet him, he’s closed-off -- bitter, angry, cold. he lashes out and he struggles to connect with anyone. but as he gets to know the team more, as he allows himself to get close and care for them, we see that he’s amazingly loyal, to the point that he gets angry with jota and joji for doubting haiji, and even wants to fight the random students who think musa’s only on the team because the university is desperate. he even tears up watching shindo and haiji finish their sections of the ekiden. it’s amazing to see someone who was almost incapable of feeling anything at all actually demonstrate an overwhelming love for his friends.
