Hey, I’m Kay (she/they) and I’m a freelance illustrator who also works at a plant nursery. I love drawing nature and smiles!
Who/what was the inspiration behind your original character?
I named Basil after Basil Hallward from the novel The Picture of Dorian Gray! I loved the herb, too, though.
What made you want to create your own original character?
I actually first made him to be the inquisitor in the game Dragon Age: Inquisition but have since made him his own character. I found myself always jealous of people who had OCs, so I was very happy to finally have my own (it’ll be seven years since I made him this year)!
Are there any similarities between you and your OC?
Basil is often who I wish to be more like. He is a lot softer and more level-headed than I am, but we both have a passion for plants and caring for others.
