This was all Gabriel’s fault. He had dragged Cas out to Taco Bell with the promise of cheap-ass tacos and those swirly cinnamon things. Which wasn’t entirely fair. Gabriel knew that Cas couldn’t say no to free food. Why Gabrielwanted him to come with him to gorge on Crunchwrap Supremes and Baja Blasts was beyond him. But he wouldn’t be in this predicament if Gabe hadn’t ordered what his older brother referred to as a “freezy-slushy-icy thing” and then finished it in record time. Next thing Cas knew, a couple of crumpled dollars were being thrust into his hand with a demand to get his “loving, caring sibling” another one.

So Cas had sighed and made his way to the front counter, preparing to order another slushy for his sugar-addicted older brother. It wasn’t until he was about to recite off his order that he realized that there had been a shift change and the pretty Indian cashier had been replaced by one of the most attractive men Cas had ever seen. Which is why he suddenly found himself tongue tied.

“One strawberry mango Frutista Freeze, please.” Cas finally managed to force out.

 “Coming right up.” The cashier – Dean, his nametag stated – grinned widely before turning from the register. He returned a few minutes later, startling Cas out of his internal play-by-play of their interaction and handed Cas the yellow-orange slushy with a smile and a wink.

Cas could feel his ears turn red and started unfolding and smoothing out the money Gabe had given him.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s on the house.” Dean turned his back to Cas and began to clean part of his work area with a wet rag, leaving Cas standing there with a slightly dumbstruck expression on his face. It was a couple of seconds before Cas started to head back to where Gabe was sitting and a couple more before he realized that Dean had taken a sharpie and written his phone number on the side of the cup. Holy shit.

He plopped himself down into his seat, still not quite believing what had just happened to him. Gabe reached out a hand to take the beverage from Cas, but was met with a hand-swat from his brother.
