Two birds

Here is the piece that got me started down the road of water etching. I had an idea for this after reading about the radium girls and wanted to add just another level of interest but didn’t want to use my usual methods. After thinking for a bit it hit me to give water etching a try and it worked so darn well with the radium symbol that I knew I was going to use it again. And I did. Another day, another week, another mug. Yep had some fun with this one and even mixed up a nasty green for biohazard. Thanks to mr @theheartlessmachine for giving me the idea. I have mixed up underglazes for many of my larger pieces but hadn’t really done any custom colors on the functional pieces. I don’t know why, just never crossed my mind or maybe I just never slowed down enough to do it. Either way it’s done now and a new rabbit hole has opened up.
