Maybe it's because I already knew for months Robby wasn't going to get THIS particular win, but I find the win he actually got even better.
The main reason he wanted this win so bad was because he felt this was his last chance to win big before he had to face a life that gave him zero opportunities in terms of a bright future or succesfull career, and he fought so well that even if he couldn't finish THIS match he will now get filthy rich by just keep doing what he loves, training and competing -because let's remember he's not just doing sponsorship and stuff, the lady specifically said they'll be competing.
The counselour said there were zero chances he'd go professional with his sport and now he got a contract in his hands before he even got out of school.
Like not only he doesn't have to worry about his future anymore because he got his dream job right there, it also means THIS win wasn't his last chance at all, because now it's literally his job to keep competing so he'll have all the chances in the world to bring home trophy after trophy.
They made a point of giving us that scene with Johnny where they show Robby learnt what Johnny never could and accepted a karate loss for what it is, but while Johnny had to wait 30 years to get a win, in my eyes they gave it to Robby right away with that job offer and all the possibilities that come with it -they made a point in making it clear he could have won if Axel didn't cheat, so I can assure you it's not going to be 30 years before Robby wins his first championship.
LIKE I'M SORRY BUT WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IS GETTING BROKE TO PAY THEIR TUITION MY BABY IS GETTING RICH TRAVELLING THE WORLD KICKING ASS WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND AND POSING WITH A BOTTLE OF SOME ENERGIC DRINK HERE AND THEN LOVE THAT FOR HIM
