I want to talk about how dangerous it is to over-identify with specific parts of yourself. Particularly if the "part" that you're over-identifying with isn't serving you

There are things that as much as we want keep holding on to - dreams that we want to fight for; people we would never want to let go - we must give up and move forward to a new chapter. You see, it hurts our pride to give up on something or someone. It pains our heart. It torments our mind. But the thing is, there are times that the dreams we are dreaming of aren't really meant for us. And there are times that the people we badly want to keep in our lives aren't really destined to stay. The more we hold on to something or someone that is not for us, the more that we are drifted away from what is really dedicated for us. It is indeed lonely and difficult to give up but our courage of doing so will one day reap its fruits. We are not seeing the whole picture yet. Giving up on that certain thing or person doesn't mean giving up on life completely. Sometimes, we must lose what is not for us to gain space for what is for us.
