A/N: Thatâs right. Iâm writing something thatâs not sad. *gasp* I wrote this pretty quickly and I didnât have it proof read by my beta, but I donât think thereâs any grammar mistakes or things of that nature, but yeah. (Hope you feel better Kendra)
Update: I went back and edited it a bit because it was too fast paced. There wasn't enough detail and i knew i could do better, so i fixed it. The story's the same, nothing changed, it's just written better and there's more detail.
I watched my monitor as the small loading bar filled up at an achingly slow pace. Absent mindedly I stared biting my finger nail; it was a bad habit, but it kept me occupied when I got bored. Someone cleared their throat loudly, getting my attention. I spun around in my chair and took my hand away from my mouth.
âGavin,â Michael said with a disapproving glare. He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. âI thought you said you were gonna stop that.â
âI am! I just⌠forgot,â I mumbled, wiping the saliva off of my chewed on finger and onto my jeans. âSorry Michael, itâs a habit.â
Michael sighed, clearly frustrated. âYeah Gavin, I know. Thatâs why weâre trying to break it. If you canât stop then Iâll have to figure out some sort of punishment for you,â Michael insisted. Ray snickered in the background mumbling something about team mavin, but it looked like Michael either ignored it or didnât hear it.
âWe? Youâre not the one having to break the bad habit Michael,â I stated. Michael didn't move, and I could feel the weight of him staring at me.
âFine,â I sighed. I wasnât going to bother getting into a fight with him because of this. Sometimes it's just easier to go with it. Â âSo what did you have in mind Michael?â
He leaned back in his chair and took a moment to think about it. I didnât like the look on his face when he sat back up, and I began to regret asking. âHmmm,â Michael hummed. âWell, they say it takes about three weeks to break a bad habit, so if you can go three weeks without biting your nails weâll go to Six Flags like youâve been begging to do for months now.â
The mention of the amusement park cheered me up. I had wanted to go ever since I heard about it. Itâs relatively close and thereâs this one roller coaster there called the âIron Rattlerâ. I've seen commercials for it all the time. It has a 171 foot drop and it goes 70 mph, with an inverted barrel roll. I didn't really know what that meant, but it sounded absolutely top.
âBut,â Michael continued, taking me out of my day dream, âif you do bite your fingers during the three weeks, you have to have to edit one of my Rage Quits each time you do it, andâŚ.... cuddle with me on the couch for half an hour each time.â Michael said the last part quieter than before.
âI totally heard you. Tweetnâ it. Hashtag Mavin!â Ray shouted from his desk.
âShut up Ray!â Michael turned around  and smacked Ray in the arm. He spun back and I could see his face getting red already; his pale skin did a terrible job of hiding his blush.
I couldnât help but grin at Michael. In all honesty  was really excited about this. âOkay. Sounds like a deal.â

The first week and a half went great, I didnât bite my nails once and the idea of going to Six Flags was looking more and more like a reality. I only had another week and a half left, but I screwed up during lunch. I was waiting for my left overs to finish being warmed up in the microwave and I started chewing my fingers for a split second before I realized what I was doing. I immediately shoved my hands in my pockets, but Michael had just walked into the break room and caught me in the act.
âLooks like thatâs one less Rage Quit and a relaxing evening for me,â Michael said as he walked behind me to get to the fridge. Somehow he managed to make it sound like he was gloating when he said it.
âUgh, but Michael! I stopped right after I started,â I complained. I already had a long Minecraft Letâs Play to edit and I really didnât want to edit Michaelâs Rage Quit too.
Michael chuckled, sorting through the large array of beers in the fridge. âNope, you still chewed on your finger nails. Now you have to start your three weeks over again.â
âWhat?! I have to start over?! But Michael thatâs not fair! You never said that,â I whined. This was ridiculous. There's no way i'd get to go to Six Flags.
âWell I thought that was implied when we made the agreement. I wouldnât make sense to go to Six Flags if you bit your nails everyday would it?â He questioned. He got out of the fridge with his beer in hand.
Why did Michael always have to be right? âYeah, I guess it wouldnât make sense,â I admitted.
âRight. So I guess weâll be cuddling on the couch for a while tonight,â he said, giving me a quick peck on the lips before going back to the Achievement Hunter office.

Originally I hated the idea of having to restart every time I bit my nails, but cuddling on the couch was starting to change my mind. Iâm pretty sure itâd already been longer than half an hour, but I donât think either of us wanted to get off the couch.
Michael was leaning against the arm of the sofa, his head propped up by one of his arms. His feet stretched out across the cushions and his other arm was around my waist. My feet were tucked up and I sat in his lap curled up to his chest. There was something on Neflix, but i wasn't really watching it. I was tired from staying late at work to finish editing the Lets Play and the Rage Quit.
"Hey Michael," I mumbled sleepily. I turned so my face was buried into his neck making my sound even more muffled.
"Yeah Gav?" Michael yawned as he replied. He rested his chin on my head and moved the arm that used to support his head over to my shoulder.
"I might have to bite my nails again. Even if it does mean I have to edit another Rage Quit."
I felt Michael chuckle next to me, and I yawned again. He just about had me in a bear trap, and i could feel myself dozing off as Michael's breathing lulled me to sleep.

All in all, it took me almost six weeks to get to go to Six Flags, and I may or may not have purposely chewed my nails in front of Michael a couple of times. Although i really loved cuddle time in the evening, i still wanted to go to Six Flags so I eventually went the whole three weeks without once biting my nails. It wasnât very difficult to do, and we ended up making "Cuddle Time" a regular thing. I think my bad habit might be one of the best thing to ever happen to me. Because of it i get to ride the "Iron Rattler" and i get to cuddle with Michael every night.
