The parable exhibits two types of sin. One is the sin of the law-breaker and the other the sin of the law-keeper. Each centers on a broken relationship. One breaks that relationship while failing to fulfill the expectations of the family and society. The second breaks his relationship while fulfilling those same expectations. Excerpt from: "The Cross and the Prodigal: Luke 15 Through the Eyes of Middle Eastern Peasants" by Kenneth E. Bailey. This weekend I read #thecross and #theprodigal by #kennethebailey and had to recommend it to you. It was an excellent, excellent read. The author is very succinct, so it was a quick and engrossing read. I read it on Scribd but ordered a paperback so I can loan it to family and friends to read bc it is just so good. I can not recommend it highly enough. You won’t be able to put this book down! It grabs you from the introduction and doesn’t let go after the last page is down. I’m ready to re-read it now! #christianbookreview #christianbookrecommendations #luke15 #messianicmondays #morningdevotional #messianicbeliever #contextmatters #culturalperspective #parables https://www.instagram.com/p/ByhwPbHFBh6/?igshid=1ifdjjcf652df
