I tried to make Aulë a mix between the Noldor and Dwarves, with his beard in greyish skin from the dwarves, and then the braided hair and the ornement holding it away from his face like the Noldor, as well as his white apron. Yavanna´s skin is bark, and her hair changes depending on the seasons, she isn´t interested in "clothes" beyond her form, as she just as easily might walk out of a tree or turn into one. She only really wears jewelry and small bells in her horn like branches because Aulë makes them for her, and in thanks, she makes him flower crowns or bundles.

Varda

Since I already had updated designs for the queens, all I had to do was translate Varda’s design into my inky style. Easier said than done loll I had some trouble conveying the galaxy look of her hair, but I think I managed it in the end!

Yavanna

I feel like this version is a little plainer than the original; I was also trying to ensure that she looked at least a little different from my nature goddess’ design. I keep defaulting to trees whenever I think of nature-y deities XD

Nienna

Are those waterfalls made of tears? Ah well, I’m not too sure myself loll I just knew I wanted to create a calming and/or soothing effect for Nienna’s portrait.

Estë

This one was another toughie to translate into my inky style, especially the glowy mists. I think the hair looks better in the original too, but I’m still happy with how this one turned out :)

Vairë

I’m the most proud of this one. I think y’all can understand why loll

Also, as a little challenge, can you recognize all the events in her tapestry? XDD (I can always make a separate post about it later, if y’all want!)

Vána

I imagine Vána can turn up in any flower place -- gardens, lagoons, even a simple pond with lily pads!

Nessa

In my design, Nessa could be wearing an elaborate pelt, or it’s her hair, or it’s both. Her antlers go with Oromë’s to show their sibling connection. And also, as part of my headcanon, one of Oromë’s spears is actually Nessa’s -- they have a matching set, but after the Battle of the Powers, Nessa no longer wanted to do battle and handed her spear over to her brother.

Of course, that’s not to say that she’d refuse to fight if the need was dire. Oromë holds onto her spear for safe-keeping; when the time comes to defend her home and the Children, she’ll definitely take it up again.
