Wonderful!! Unless I've missed one, that means that we have all the lines needed for Not Yet / Love Run!

We also only have one line to go for King: "the old fisher's tackles". So close!

(Also, I was testing out some technical things with the song Ruin and I realized we're very close to being able to do one of these with that too! The only lines missing are "You hurled curses at the land" and "I said fewer". If anyone wants to use those as titles, absolutely go for it!)

1 . What was your first impression of this song (and has it changed)?

My first impression was, oh how lovely, a soft and gentle TAD song, something to add to my nighttime playlist as a lullaby. Joey Batey singing me to sleep, that'll be nice. :) :) :)

It didn't last very long. In fact that first impression was immediately blown up in about, oh, two minutes and fifty seconds. Let me tell you, I never felt more wide awake than when that feral OHHHHHH crashed through the melody with a clash of drums.

2. How does this song make you feel?

On one level, I am clutching this song to my chest like a shield, or gripping it tight like a sword, using it to help me through dark days when I despair that I'll never be an uncomplicated version of okay, that my inner demons will never truly go away, I'll have to grapple with them for the rest of my life.

On another level I am holding this song up to the light, going: HOLY FUCK. HOLY FUCK, JOEY BATEY. HOW ARE YOU EVEN REAL.

10. When recommending this song to other people, how would you describe it?

Phrases I have actually used:

It's sexy, but like, angry-sexy. Like a sword fight.

Like a tango between two rival assassins

A battle cry for when you're fighting for your own soul

The Horror and the Wild. This is the "Are you tired of being nice? Don't you just want to go ape shit" meme in a nutshell. I'm not tired of being nice—I quite enjoy it—but there are days when I do in fact want to go ape shit! And whenever I need to get over my deep-seated tendency to people-please and actually assert myself, this is the song I turn to. It's quite effective. Can't be a doormat with this song howling in your blood.

again, fair!! i cried without fail the first like ten times i listened to that song. he sings it with such simple tenderness it just gets me every time you know
