The full "Krypto, take me home" clip has been released. Exploring the Fortress of Solitude, the Robot assistants within it, and a Yellow sun charging room.
Some cool Easter eggs I caught watching My Adventures with Superman that I want to show to people so they can be in on it with comic book readers
Welcome back to the My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references post! Been a while, so some things to go over the Easter eggs in issues 4 to 6 for My Adventures with Superman will be done some time later. Hopefully I can get issue 4 out by the end of the week, cuz when I did posts for issues 1 to 3 I had to use an old crap computer before I bought a newer and more powerful computer and then burnout happened but like I said those last three issues will be done do not worry.
If you want to check out the Easter eggs of Seasons 1 and 2 and the comic issues they are here

My Easter eggs and references in My Adventures with Superman season 2 post is here
As for season 3 its finally here I am so excited for this and the Supergirl movie (go read Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow if you want to be in on the know for what happens in the movie and point out the cool stuff from the comics to friends when you watch it in theaters. The story is great and the art is GORGEOUS)! Anyways season 3 of MAwS is here and obviously SPOILERS if you have not seen the episode yet it will after the line after this point ________________________________________________________________
Look at how beautiful the Fortress of Solitude looks now! I talked more about it in this post if you want to read up on its origins in the comics
Clark and Kara get updates to their costumes! Kara now sports a red skirt along with her pants and red shoulders while Clark has his cape draped over the shoulders with a yellow outline on his pecs and his trunks are given the red loops around his yellow belt (in other shots the belt loops arent supposed to be that close to the buckle Im guessing this shot here was an animation error).
As you can see in the comics page from Supergirl #13 (1983) (W: Paul Kupperberg, P: Carmine Infantino, I: Bob Oksner, C: Tom Ziuko, L: Ben Oda) Kara is shown with the red shoulders like her MAwS counterpart. This would be the first time Supergirl in the comics that she wears the red skirt similar to how Superman wears the red trunks cuz before that Kara wore a blue skirt then red short shorts before settling on the costume shown here.
As Superman goes around and sees how different the Fortress of Solitude is he meets the Chief Steward of it which brings to mind the Superman robots that Clark likes to keep in the Fortress to help run it.
In Man of Steel #1 (1986) (W&P: John Byrne, I: Dick Giordano, C: Tom Ziuko, L: John Costanza) Kelex is first seen as one of Jor-El's robot servants on Krypton before its destruction. The Eradicator made a Kelex II when the Fortress of Solitude was created on Earth post-Crisis. You might also know the Fortress of Solitude robots in Superman (2025), where they are numbered aside from Gary.
One of the other robots in the Fortress makes reference to the Kandorian crystals and that brings to mind the Sunstone crystal of Krypton. This crystal makes it first appearance as the Sunstone in Action Comics #336 (1966) (W: Edmond Hamilton, P: Curt Swan, L: George Klein) where Superman trying to uphold Kryptonian law that Ak-Var one of the Phantom Zone inmates is allowed to be free after serving his sentence for trying to steal the Sunstone. Later comics expand on what the crystals can do being able to make structures out of it, made into vehicles, act as laptops and computers of the sorts. Later in the opening before the title song Kara meets with Brainiac who I talked more about here. Obviously her issues with Brainiac are still not over and might get explored more as the season goes on who knows.
One of the robots also invoke Rao's name who I explained here
Nice homage to episode 4 from last season's final shot with Kara overlooking the Earth.
After the opening we get the title of the episode "Into the New World", now I dont know how much Im reading into it but this was the title of Girls Generation's debut song and its been used as a protest song for millennial Koreans and as a song for female empowerment. The title itself works here because Kara is stepping into this new world for her, Bizarro (more on him later) was raised in this lab and is now free and going into this new world where hopefully after seeing Clark's heroism can do the same like what Dr. Binder (more on him later) taught him.
Kara brings up Jimmy's Flamebird name (you can read more about Flamebird here and then references the Challengers of the Unknown and a couple of their team members.
Challengers of the Unknown makes their first appearance here in Showcase #6 (1957) (W: Dave Wood, P: Jack Kirby, I: Roz Kirby & Marvin Stein) where they are adventurers who escape death every time and because of their cheating death they are considered living on borrowed time before death goes after them. Its such a cool premise the latest Challengers book is a good read from DC's All-In initiative and if you can find it do seek out the old books that Jack Kirby drew as shown here cuz theyre so cool to see! Kyle "Ace" Morgan the team pilot makes his first appearance here while June Robbins make her first appearance in the next issue Showcase #7 (1957) (W: Dave Wood, P: Jack Kirby, I: Roz Kirby & Marvin Stein) where she's the greatest authority on robotics and the Challengers wondered what are the chances of them taking down Ultivac, the giant robot thats causing havoc, and June reads out that Ultivac will fall when one Challenger dies from the calculating machine. She actually joins the Challengers at the end of the issue.
Kara and Jimmy also kinda dress like Fox Mulder and Dana Scully from the X-Files just their suits have purple to tie back into the Challengers of the Unknown's signature color uniform.
Clark and Lois are dressed as Victor Frankenstein and Frankenstein's monster (appropriate for the episode considering they meet Bizarro and his origins and also there is a Frankenstein in the DC universe you might have seen him in Creature Commandos but comics Frankenstein is a good guy) and Clark mentions to Lois about the future living on a farm outside the city and having a dog (maybe Krypto shows up who knows) but Clark and Lois have lived outside the city early in the DC Rebirth era of Action Comics and Superman, Lois and Clark lived in Hamilton County with their son on the "Smith" Farm to hide their identities because at the beginning of DC Rebirth, the "Smiths" are actually pre-New 52 Lois and Clark. Pre-New 52 Clark takes over as Superman after New 52 Superman dies. But that all gets retconned over after the Superman Rebirth storyline where New 52 Lois and Clark combine with Pre-New 52 Lois and Clark and their histories blend together. I know...comics.
Later, Lois sees her dad, Sam Lane (more about him here) and he name drops Cadmus and Task Force X (which I talk about here and here respectively). It seems like her relationship with Sam is a bit better this season.
After sneaking into the Project CALIBAN facility, Jimmy believes there are dino-people living in the center of the Earth but Lois dismisses it and tells him that the "Sasquatch" they met is actually a French Gorilla who I explained here but the dino-people actually brings up a couple of characters from All-Star Superman. In All-Star Superman #3 (2006) (W: Grant Morrison, P: Frank Quietly, I&C: Jamie Grant, L: Phil Balsman) a group of Subterranosauri warriors led by Krull attacks Metropolis and was stopped by Samson and Atlas who were trying to woo Lois but Superman put a stop to that and rescued Krull who was thrown to space. Krull and the warriors are later led back underground to his father Tyrannko who will punish the warriors and his son for his actions after getting tricked by Samson to attack the surface.
As they explore the area, Lois see a cracked tank and reads out Subject B-1Z and later the group see Bizarro (voiced by Jack Quaid too so nice touch there to have Superman also voice Bizarro)
Bizarro first appeared in comics in 1958 in Superboy #68 where he was duplicated from a Duplicator ray hitting Superboy. But the specific clone origin of Bizarro first appeared in Man of Steel #5 (1986) (W&P: John Byrne, I: Dick Giordano, C: Tom Ziuko, L: John Costanza) where he is an imperfect clone of Superman but has memories of all Superman and tries to live his life like Clark Kent but cant because his skin begins to flake resulting in the pure white skin look. Superman later battles him and tries to heat vision him only to burn Bizarro's costume to be darker. The only way to stop Bizarro is for Superman to fly into him. Do read the Man of Steel miniseries its a the basis for a lot of the Superman lore that popculture knows nowadays.
The crew also learn that Bizarro was actually raised by the deceased Dr. George Otto Binder who taught Bizarro about kindness and empathy correctly guessed by Kara too.
Dr. Binder was named after Otto Binder who was a writer for DC during the Gold and Silver age of comics where he co-created Supergirl, Bizarro, Krypto, Brainiac, a lot of (DC's) the Captain Marvel characters, and the Legion of Superheroes. It was very nice of the MAwS crew to have Dr. Binder show kindness and be a good father figure for Bizarro in this episode. Nice way to honor Otto Binder's legacy.
Before checking out the lab garden, our protagonists get attacked by one of the Project CALIBAN subjects and freezes Superman in place but luckily he escapes and shows off a bit of that electric blue power on him which I talked more about here and here. At the garden though, Kara name drops a couple of Kryptonian flora, the Oregus and Blood Bloom.
The Oregus plant in the comics makes its first appearance in Action Comics #149 (1950) (P: Wayne Boring, I: Stan Kaye) where Lois finds three Kryptonian memory disks and watches how Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van met while the Blood Bloom first appeared in Superman Secret Files 2009 #1 (2009) (W: Sterling Gates & Greg Rucka, P: Fernando Dagnino, I: Raul Fernandez, C: Blond, L: John J. Hill) where years ago Kara and her friend, Thara Ak-Var (hey what a coincidence Ak-Var) sneak out of their home to look at the Fire Falls where the Blood Bloom grows.
As the episode comes to a close, we gotta have the "its a bird, its a plane, no its Superman" reference with trick-or-treaters at Clark and Jimmy's apartment. Its a cute moment, any Superman medium has to have this reference.
Bizarro makes it to Metropolis on Halloween night with only a red cape on and we get a nice view of the city and its costumed citizens. I spotted a Star Trek uniform, what I guessing is Shrek by the knight's leg there at least some one who didnt paint their body green but wearing Shreks outfit, and when the scene cuts to the little girl giving Bizarro candy, I also spotted a Ryu and Chun-Li behind him, Momo Ayase and Okarun from Dandadan, and Im guessing a Toad from the Mario games facing towards the entrance of an alley way.
But the thats not all the signs around the city have fun Easter eggs too. In the wide shot we get Big Belly Burger a chain of fast food restaurants in the DC universe first appearing in Adventures of Superman #441 (1988), the Flamebird logo appears on a sign too (I talk more about Flamebird here if you missed it), then we see Star Labs which I talk more about here, then we see Kord Industries, first appearing Blue Beetle #1 (1986) where after DC bought the Charleston comics characters, Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle was retconned to being an inventor and businessman where he establishes Kord Omniversal Research and Development Industries. This allowed him to train and develop gadgets and vehicles for him to fight as the Blue Beetle after Dan Garrett, the first Blue Beetle, was fatally injured. Then we see a sign that reads "Believe It!" Im guessing someone on the MAwS crew is a Naruto fan. And finally the sign that confirms it. Yes Wayne Enterprises is in this universe. Billionaire, playboy, and possibly Batman at this point, Bruce Wayne is in the MAwS universe.
The episode finally comes to an end on Lex Luthor and Slade Wilson (I talk about Lex Luthor here, his company here, and about Slade here) and they mention Hank Henshaw who survived what happened to him in the jet in season 2 (I talk about him here). I'll go more in depth with Cyborg Superman when he actually shows up this season. Also the reason why I dont have any more pictures here is because I hit the 30 images limit.
But yeah that is what I was able to spot in episode 1 of season 3, come back next week for episode 2's Easter eggs. I'll try to get Issue 4 of My Adventures of Superman's Easter eggs done by the end of this week too! Below are links to the first parts that have all the links to my Easter eggs posts from My Adventures with Superman if you want to go through all of them.
