Because it's made by Kel-Tec and Kel-Tec's entire manufacturing operation is like 3 dudes in a garage and their semi-trained pet monkey. The first gen KSGs had problems such as double feeding and the selector switch breaking, and while the later production runs were better you really can't shake off that kind of bad first impression.
