Keith is going to die here, and the only thing—the only thing—that would make it less awful is if he takes Shiro with him when he goes. Because Shiro isn’t going to come back to him; he’s certain of that now. And Shiro wouldn't want to be left like this. As many times as it takes, right?

"I love you" Keith's voice breaks around the words, his throat raw from the effort, the pain, the blade Shiro puts through him just as the last word leaves his lips. Shiro breaks from the witch's control a fraction of a moment later, but the blood is already pouring from the open wound, where the purple glow of his arm goes into Keith's body.
