Me: I kind of dig the idea, but don't at this stage have a clue as to how to make it work. The easiest solution would be to have Keith somehow save him when the control room blew up-oh shit if he did, maybe he's a candidate for the spare lion while Shiro is missing. Not Black, but if Keith takes Black, someone needs to move into Red.

Shulkie: Or Thace escaped on his own Stowaway in Red

Me: That's a pretty neat idea though.

If Red knows Keith has to pilot Black (even temporarily) and calling someone else.

Shulkie: Thace training Keith to fight like the Blade of Marmora

Me: Getting him in touch with his Galra heritage. Teaching him that there's more to them than Zarkon's empire.

And the paladins can't help feeling like they've swapped Shiro for this guy and resenting it although it's not his fault. And Thace understands what it's like to lose friends and comrades.
