I'm honestly not sure how much anyone follows #Smaugust anymore, but it's the art challenge that pulled me out of a major art slump years ago, so I'm going to spend all this month talking about it... or well, maybe not it specifically. I'll be talking sharing the dragons that I've posted over the years and will be posting new ones at the end of each week.
I'll start with THIS dragon, which started it all. I was reading Outlaws of Kamigawa at the time that my dear friend was cleaning her living room / art studio. She kept handing me pens, markers, highlighters, etc. to test out and make sure were working. Instead of just doing simple lines for this, I just decided to draw out a particular scene I read in the book - that of a dragon in a waterfall. This became the first in my elemental marker dragons.
Prints of this (and all my other dragons) can be found at dragonmun.com/dragons
