A Dispensary for the people of Kauai.
The importance of having the one dispensary allowed on Kauai to be run by the people of Kauai for the people of Kauai is paramount. The history of many large scale business “taking over” the market on Kauai runs deep. From big box stores to large agribusiness, the competition is difficult for small time business men and women to compete with. Many of our locally owned stores have been forced to close. Hawaii’s House Bill 321 will allow only one company to obtain a dispensary license for Kauai, leaving the people of Kauai one option to purchase medical marijuana and medical marijuana related products. That one company will have full control of the products offered, prices they can charge and services offered. I believe that the people of Kauai deserve to have say in the aspects of how this business is run if we are only allowed one dispensary. Let us all band together to create a non-profit dispensary operated by the people of Kauai benefiting the people of Kauai. There are many off island entities who see dollar signs at the prospects of owning such a company here. Lets be proactive and make sure that Kauai and its people are in charge.
