what do you use for your art? it seems like pen and im curious how you go about it. is there a pencil sketch or do you just go for it? (sorry for all the questions I just love your art style)
There is always a base sketch! If its a pencil sketch I tend to get rid of it before or during the process of inking [kneaded erasers my beloveds]. I am unfortunately not talented enough to freehand ink things. Its something I would love to do, but haven't had the time to seriously practice.
I've been using micron pens for the past,,, I want to say two years now? But before that I used faber castelle. I'm really enjoying the switch so far! Faber castelle are nice, especially the thicker black brush pens that are good for filling in large areas of dark [I haven't found a good micron pen for that specifically yet]. However their more fine tip pens [.5 and smaller] break down super quickly. The nibs just... stop giving ink after only a handful of uses, especially on my rougher watercolor papers, which is what I primarily used them on until recently.
