Knuckle down is the starting position of marbles and it's also something you have to get down on the floor to do. Paul has to get down on the floor for Klein to sign the contract and for...other reasons. Also there's the idea that this thing was always going to happen to him no matter what because Paul is desperate for a reason for why this is happening to him (once the marble is on the ramp it must always follow that path). Brian Jones didn't drown on accident. He downed a bunch of substances and got into the pool as a suicide attempt for Klein related reasons. The lock of hair that Klein has in his office was taken from Jones AFTER he died. He likes to show it off to business partners (he has a piece of a dead star). When Klein jerks off sometimes he takes some of the hair and rubs it on the underside of his dick.

If Paul's suicide attempt had been successful two stars killing themselves under Klein's management would directly point the finger at Klein and tank his career. Nothing legal would happen to him but insiders would be in the know and John would be a loose canon publicly blaming Klein at every opportunity and then John probably dies of an overdose. George ceases all public appearances and becomes a hermit.

Don McLean writes his famous song "Vincent" (starry starry night) but names it "Paul". The song is about Paul's suicide. Yes I know he wrote it about Van Gogh's suicide but I'm in charge now it's about Paul.
