KBIS Las Vegas: Good News and Better News!
At the beginning of this month the Kitchen & Bath Industry teamed up with the Builders show to co-locate in Las Vegas for the KBIS and Builders show. More than 80,000 visitors flocked to see the 1,500 plus exhibitors. We were able to attend and were encouraged and excited to see the “buzz” of activity and incredible volume of people in attendance.
A highlight of the International Builders Show each year is the “New American Home” which serves as the official show home and is constructed each year before the show. Each year the New American Home features cutting edge technology and trends in the building and home industry and this year did not disappoint. The home also featured the complete Carrier home comfort systems operated by Infinity Touch Control.
Of special interest too was the story of its builder. Three years ago builder and founder of “Element Building Co.”, Josh Anderson, purchased 36 lots outside of Las Vegas for around $90,000 each with hopes that his risky purchase would pay off once the market regained momentum. After the construction of the “New American Home” on one of his lots, it seems as if his gamble could really pay off!
The price tag of the home is $5 million and has five bedrooms, an elevator, and rooftop terrace. Anderson hopes that with thousands of people having toured “The New American Home”, it will help sell or increase interest in all of the lots having showcased the beautiful views of the desert and The Strip. Each of the other lots is priced between $200,000 and $1 million dollars.
With the luxury housing market improving and the housing market in general, things are looking bright for Anderson in 2014, as well as many others. Both shows plan to come together again next year and we look forward to hearing the next chapter of this story from Josh Anderson and seeing just how far we will have come again, this time next year!
