"A new best friend? Why would you want a new best friend? Would a new best friend do this?" In contrast to his usual demeanour, he's almost soft and gentle when he steps closer to his best friend and presses a hand to Suguru's face. He leans in, lips pressing together, and the kiss is slow and deep and lingering, and when he parts, the contact barely breaks and he presses their foreheads together with a sigh. "I'm glad you made it this far, Suguru... Without you... god knows..."
The kiss is welcomed with the kind of ease thatâs born from years of trust. His movements are fluid when he shifts, presses closer and returns the kiss with a pliant mouth while his hands settle, one resting on Kazumaâs upper arm while the other cupped the back of his neck. When the kiss ends, itâs obvious that Suguru has softened in his own way. His shoulders are loose, relaxed, and his expression has melted from itâs usual calculated mischief into something a little more serene, a little more genuine.Â
He doesnât have to think about how incredible it is that theyâve made it this far, doesnât have to think about how much theyâve grown since they were little kids, them against the world. Suguru is more than aware and the fact that Kazuma brings it up has a smile crinkling the corners of his eyes.
âYouâre not going soft on me are you?â
