My new hair colours done by myself! Inspired by the colour tones on my #Katwise Coat and my crochet dragon scale gloves. THE STORY: As you may know I'm a massive fan of @misskatwise the creator of the most #colourfulcoats and jackets made entirely of recycled jumpers. I had always dreamed of owning one of her creations one day, as they are quite hard to get your hands on and they cost around $200 - $500. But 6 years ago I had a the most amazing surprise package from Katwise. Inside was this stunning rainbow coat along with a note from Kat herself. It read... "Hi Anya!! I hope you like acts of randomness from the universe! Your mother wrote me a sweet note and showed me you rainbow wedding dress. I felt we were kindred spirits in colours. So a moment after I read your mom's email, the postman knocked on the door with a package from a customer, She told me she had gotten a coat 3 years ago, but it was too big for her and she wanted me to give it to someone... well it just happened to be a rainbow coat! So it seemed like serendipity! I hope you love it. Its a vintage design - my stuff has evolved since i made it... but rainbow are timeless. I hope it makes you smile! Kat" I could not believe it. And it fit perfectly!! Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined something like this... and 6 years later I still can't get over it! So, I want to share my favorite artist with everyone today💕 If you're into the fiber arts, you probably know her already: this is Kat O'Sullivan, better known as #Katwise on etsy. Way back in the early 2000s when I was in high school I used to dream of owning one of her sweater coats. She offered custom made coats back then for about $150. At the time, I couldn't even imagine having that much money to spend on clothes, but I still checked in on her shop and website daily for a dose color and inspiration. In the following years her shop exploded--her demand skyrocketed and she could not make enough to satisfy her suddenly ginormous fan base. For years now she has released small batches of coats to an eager audience that buys up the collections within seconds of their release. Her success came after years of experimenting and honing her craft, working hard in relative online obscurity, and being true to herself even when it would have been easier not to be. She will always be an inspiration to me🌈💕 Here she is wearing a pair of my Kaleidoscope leggings. I sent these to her. When you admire someone, you should try to figure out a way to show it.
