Ada laughed as you waltzed around in one of Tommyâs old coats. It was one heâd kept from years ago, before everything went downhill. It had acquired quite a lot of dust on it until youâd found it in the attic that day. Causing you to sneeze every so often as you pranced around.
âDo the voice! Do the voice!â Ada yelled as you cleared your throat, doing the worst-yet best impression of your lifelong friend and lover.
âWhen I was in FranceâŠâ Youâd say, trying to make your voice reach a low octave as you folded your arms trying to look tough.
As you felt the soft fabric in your hands, you looked out the window, thinking back to all those happy moments with him, and Ada of course.
Youâd been with the Shelby family practically all your life. You being the same age as their brother John, living right next door to them on Watery Lane.
You were there through all their hardships. Giving each of the boys a long hug before they left for the war.
To Arthur, you were like a sister. To Ada, well - you were her lifelong best friend. Her go to gossiper, glittery makeup tester, and her most trusted person. But to John and Tommy, you were their first crush.
John tried to get you first, trying to play with a ball on the streets in front of you. Forever trying to impress you with his sporting skills. Eventually you decided to engage in some games with him. And even sneakily sharing a kiss in the alley between your houses as alcohol flowed through both your veins one night. But you refused to go any further, knowing he wasnât the one you yearned for.
In contrast with John, you rejected playing sports after a while. Opting for sitting down on the front steps, drawing life around you and often reading. Ada would come out too, shipping her best friend with the blue eyes blinder.
Tommy would see you from in the house, watching you go into your own little world as youâd draw and read. He seemed to be the only one that understood you, being a bit withdrawn himself, heâd sit with you and talk about anything, just to hear your voice. Just to see your smile. But he always liked Ada teasing you, cuz then he could hear your laugh which he thought about often.
Years later youâd come to find out heâd check out the same books at the library and stay up reading till sunrise, just so heâd know about the book and could talk about it with you.
But one day as you grew older, you had went off to school in London, making new friends and establishing yourself slightly. Thomas hadnât gotten the courage to ask you out yet, but his letters always hinted at something more.
When news of the boys being drafted got out, you raced home, knowing it may be the last time youâd see the men youâve grown to love. Hoping that maybe after the endless years of talking and confiding in each other, heâd admit the one thing he knew deep down. That Tommy loved you, and always had.
So before they left, he grabbed you by the waist pulling you into a kiss that only novels would dare to describe. Your eyes tearing up as he broke away from you in the alley. Oddly the same alley youâd shared your first kiss with John.
âI love you Y/NâŠI do. If I donât make it backâŠjust know Iâll always love you aye? Look out for Ada and Pol for me. Iâll write to you.â He said, wiping a tear away from your cheek as the rain started to pour. He looked at his pocket watch as youâd seen the once innocent and docile Thomas turn to a hard-faced man of stone. The fear that he could very well come home in a box plaguing his mind as he hugged you one last time.
âYouâll come back. I know you will. I love you.â You said through your tears, kissing him once more before he left for what felt like an eternity.
But you were right. He did come back. He was a different man, but he came back nonetheless.
It took a while for him to settle back into civilian life, as it did for his brothers and so many others. But you were the one person he could confide in. You felt as if youâd seen the hell heâd been through as he described it to you. Heâd sit on the floor of his old room on watery lane with your head lying gently on his lap as he told you about what happened over there. Knowing he at least could tell you, and that you tried your hardest to understand. Heâd often stroke your hair as he continued, pausing his story to wipe tears from his eyes and then from yours as he relived the darkest moments of his life. But he knew that as long as he had you, he was going to be okay.
Years later, heâd made sure of that though, seeing as you married him and officially joined the Shelby family. John was understanding through everything, he knew early on that Tommy had won you over, but he always cherished that first kiss. Not thinking anyone could top that until his wife Esme came along.
âWhereâd ya go love?â Ada asked, snapping her fingers in front of you as youâd stared off, reminiscing about the past.
âYou know where I was.â You said with a wink, as you continued staring out your window.
âYou gonna wear that all night?â Ada asked, giggling as youâd realized youâd still had Tommyâs coat on. It fit you perfectly since it was from so long ago, but wearing it always brought you back.
âY/NâŠâ Ada said, pointing to the doorframe as your husband stood there quietly with a smirk.
âWhat? Just thought Iâd try it onâŠDonât I look cute?â You asked, your heart racing as you came back to reality. Knowing that you were with him, and that he was indeed okay. Damaged, but okay.
âAwe look at the love birds. Oi why didnât we act like that Y/N?â John asked as he held his wifeâs hand. Theyâd just came in your house unannounced like they often did these days, especially after the business started picking up.
âFucking what?â Tommy asked, his gaze going from you to his brother in a split second.
âWhen was this?â He asked, letting you go as he loosened the cuff links on his shirt.
âIâm going to let you fight this one.â Ada said to you as she quietly left the room.
âLove. Sweetheart. Itâs okay heâs talking about when we were kids. We shared a kiss in the alley one time when we were drunk. Youâd been away with Johnny and Pol in the countryside.â You said quickly, a nervous laugh escaping as you watched your husbands jealousy turn to amusement.
âIt was nothing more than that my love.â You said, reassuring the dashing man next to you with a kiss.
âWell it looks like I won in the end aye?â Tommy teased, calming down and sitting on the edge of his desk as you sat next to him. Intertwining your hands together and giving him a peck on the cheek.
âSee? Sheâs always loved ya mate. But itâs alright cuz I found me a real showstopper aye?â John said, Esme drunkenly laughing at his side as he kissed her passionately.
âJohnâŠ?â You asked, grabbing Tommyâs cigarette and taking a hit. His eyes on you as you blew smoke out your mouth, smirking. It was an unspoken thing youâd do often, but it made him weak at the knees every time.
âYes?â John asked from the hall, Esme trying to drag him to the spare bedroom.
âSince youâve both walked into my house like you own the place, can you two clean the room after youâre done?â You asked, Esme rolling her eyes as John looked at his friend.
âCâmon really?â He asked annoyed.
âMhm. Maid is off tomorrow.â You said before turning back to Tommy. His eyes were on you as he glided his hands over your hips. A smile forming as he pulled you close.
âYou know youâre the only one who can tell my brothers what to do?â He asked as you kissed him.
âMhm. Iâm your girl, so they have to do what I say right?â You said cheekily.
He blew a puff smoke out as he smiled at you, that knowing look in his eye as he led you to your allâs bedroom.
âLet me put this back.â You said taking off the coat, his hands stopping you midway through.
âKeep it. You look better in it love.â He said, kissing you as he took your hand, continuing to lead you to the bedroom. The coat soon becoming an afterthought as it lied along the mahogany floors.

I'm living vicariously through Anna. Like damn girl you get Timmy C all to yourself huh.
The sound of glasses clashing and men yelling filled the room as the garrison filled up with people. The Shelby New Years Eve party started âwhenever the first person drinksâ Arthur said, shoving a glass of whiskey towards the woman at the end of the bar. She stopped the glass from sliding past and drank it like water. This was something sheâd gotten from her father. Which wasnât always a good trait.
She stared at her uncle and smirked, rolling her eyes as she turned towards the door, waiting for her father to come bursting through.
As he entered the rowdy pub, he caught a glimpse of his daughter Anna, the cerulean eyed beauty of Birmingham. The one who went hunting with her uncles at 10 and threw punches at 15. The one whoâd kept Tommy on his toes since the day of her birth.
Annaâs mother was sweet, caring, and often seen as âfar-too-niceâ to be with someone as cold as Thomas. But he liked that about her. She, and their unruly daughter were the reason he stayed somewhat sane. Mrs. Shelby was never one for parties though, so she entrusted her husband and in-laws to look after her while she visited Ada on weekends. The two of them getting in their own versions of trouble as they kept the family gossip alive.
âAnnaâ Thomas said, coming up to her with his hands drawn behind him. His eyes tearing into hers as they always do.
âDonât go too crazy with the booze tonight aye? Make it a good New Year, love.â He said patting her on the back.
âMhmâ Anna mumbled, finishing another glass as she thought about a few days before the party.
It was a cold afternoon, her hand held tightly by the man sheâd loved for months. Theyâd met at the pub while she visited Ada. But she on the other hand, was just as bad of an influence as a good one. Always letting her niece stay over when needed, and with whoever she wanted. But this was different. He asked if she wanted to date officially, seeing as it was almost New Years and he didnât want to spend it without her.
She agreed, only hesitating for a second as she thought of what her father would think.
âYou gonna tell âem?â Ada asked, already slurring her words slightly as her voice snapped Anna from her thoughts.
âDonât know. Maybe.â She said, gulping down the rest of her whisky as she walked aimlessly around the bar.
âWhatâll ya have?â She asked Tommy as he conversed with Polly. Her eyes fleeting over to her every now and then. Sheâs always had a keen eye for love.
âYou alright?â He asked as she heavily poured the whiskey into his glass.
âYeah. Just pouring a drink for ya. And one for me.â She said, pouring her a glass as she doctored it up with various ingredients. Raising her glass up to his before taking a swig. Polly shaking her head with a smirk.
âYouâre the same person, really.â She said, seeing a grin forming on Tommyâs lips.
âShe didnât exactly have much of a choice now aye?â He said, Anna rolling her eyes as she knocked back the rest of her whiskey.
âWell Iâm going to annoy Finn, you two âave fun.â Anna said, eyeing her youngest uncle in the corner. He was drinking and gambling with Isiah, his lifelong friend and fellow blinder.
âCan I play?â She asked as they made a space for her at the small table.
âMhmm, loser chugs the pitcher though.â He said, smirking. Everyone knew she was wild, her reputation around Small Heath only growing as she ran âround the place. She was nice like her mother, but cruel like her father, and she wouldnât let anyone walk over her.
âFuck.â She yelled as she slammed her cards down. Grabbing the pitcher of beer as Finn and Isiah laughed.
Unfortunately, it didnât take long for her to feel the effects. The whiskey quickly catching up to her as she went around the room bugging her family and poking fun at her cousins. She laughed loudly as Ada slipped by and told her a joke. Tommy looking over and running a hand through his graying hair.
âYou have to tell him Anna. At least at some point.â She said, walking with her over to where Polly and Tommy stood. money and business plots running through both their minds as they drank.
âTold you not to go too heavy now Anna.â He said.
âI know I know. Just wish I could see him now. Bastard had to go to another partyâŠâ she mumbled, not realizing what sheâd said.
âWho?â He asked, sitting his drink down and crossing his arms as he looked into her eyes.
âMy boyfriendâŠâ she said, her eyes widening at the fact that sheâd told him.
Polly chuckled as Tommyâs face turned from slight disappointment, to anger, and then a smirk.
âI knew it.â Polly said as she sipped champagne, the clock had just struck midnight, but Anna hardly noticed.
âWell tell him weâd like to meet him. And to âave a happy new year.â He said, his face impossible to read as he knocked back the last of his whiskey.
âI-I will...â She said, crossing her arms just like he had, as she realized what sheâd done.
After the hours passed, the ride to Adaâs was fun yet awkward, her driving sporadic as she sang happily and cracked jokes to Anna.
âHeâll lighten up love. We just have to see if the poor lad can make it 5 minutes with us.â She said, earning a smirk from her niece.
âOh joy.â Anna said, drunkenly thinking about her boyfriend having to meet the infamous blinders face to face.
Characters: Thomas Shelby x Y/N (ft. Esme + Polly)
Requested by: Anon
Summary: Y/N doesn't know how Thomas feels about her, thinking he'd never fall for someone like her. But things change after one over-heard phone call.
âWhyâd ya do that?â Arthur asked Tommy as he sulked about his office.
âI had to, if I didnât there wouldâve been witnesses and witnesses are no good for us now.â He said, clenching his jaw.
âIt was for the best. The whole lot were dying.â He said nonchalantly, his clothes still stained with blood.
âYou couldnât just let them go after a beat down? I had them in line.â Arthur said, his fists bloodied and bruising in spots.
âTell that to the one who got away.â Tommy sighed, remembering the man whoâd escaped.
âWhat are we to do then aye? Sit on our asses all day?â Johnny chimed in.
âMhmâ he said, walking out of the room as he undid his shirt. Flinging the bloodied shirt to the ground near his trusty assistant.
Your eyes scanned him as he walked to the wardrobe, pulling out a clean linen button up and slipping it on.
âDid you get those letters done Y/N?â He asked, not noticing how your pupils dilated and your breathing hitched at the sight of him.
âYes. I handed them off to Polly. She delivered them.â You said, sheepishly looking down at your typewriter.
âGood. Thank you love.â He said quickly, leaving before you could react.
Your heart raced as you over-analyzed what he called you. âLove.âIt wasnât just the word, but it was in the way he said it. It was quick, so as to hide emotion, but soft enough to make you wonder if he felt the same.
As the day turned to night, some of the other employees went home, while others lingered nervously.
Polly sulked near the window, her hands white-knuckling a mug of tea as she waited for her boys to come home.
âHe said 9:00 pm. Itâs 10:00. If Johns not back soon Iâm giving him an earful.â Esme said, moving her hand over her small baby bump.
âHey Y/N why are you still here love? That bastard say to stay?â Esme asked as you walked out to the common room.
âMhm. Finishing the paperwork. Said he felt better if I stayed.â You said, thinking back to the day before. Him discussing the boysâ plans with you while you were typing away at a rather long document.
âYou mean you want me to stay here and wait for you? Why?â Youâd asked, your heart skipping a beat.
âBecause I may need you.â He said with a straight face, his eyes fleeing from yours for a moment as you processed everything. He pulled a cigarette out of his coat pocket, looking at you as he lit it. A puff of smoke escaping his lips.
âYouâll be safer here.â He said, slowly walking out as you watched from your desk.
âAhh I see. Tommyâs at it againâŠâ Esme said with a smirk, snapping you out of your thoughts.
âWhat?â You asked.
âOh nothing love. He usually doesnât have his assistant stay with us on long nights.â She said, looking at Polly with a knowing glance.
âCâmon Y/N, you have to admit heâs handsome. Anyone could have him but he wants you. Heâs not good at showing it is all.â She said, wiggling her eyebrows slightly. Teasing you with new knowledge as you sat at the edge of her desk.
âLook at that, red as blood.â Polly said, walking over and patting you on the shoulder.
âHeâs good at hiding it. But weâve noticed. He doesnât just undress like that. At least not around us.â Polly said smirking into her tea.
âMhm. Well, umâŠIâve enjoyed the chat loves, but Iâm going back to my office.â You said, your face flushing as you awkwardly excused yourself.
As you tried to distract yourself with one of Thomasâ books, you continued to hear Esme and Polly making up things as they waited.
Your heart soon jumping out of your chest though as a call rang through.
âHello?â You asked, your heart calming once you heard a familiar voice.
âOh, hi Moira. Nothing Iâm just at work late again. YesâŠyes I know Iâm lucky to work for him-do I what?âŠWant to sleep with him?â You questioned, hoping the others werenât hearing your friend teasing you on the other line.
âI mean, yes heâs nice looking, I doubt heâd ever sleep with me though. No-no I donât know if heâs well-endowed alright? Christ Moira. Can we talk tomorrow? Iâll meet you at the pub aye.â You said, feeling eyes on you from a distance.
âAlright love, see ya tomorrow.â You said hanging up and shaking your head slightly as you turned around in your seat.
âEsme not now I-â you said, stopping shortly after you saw the handsome man leaning against the door frame. His shirt was bloodied for the second time that day. His pants and shoes covered in mud. And a long crimson line of blood running down the side of his cheek. The sound of his cigarette lighter quickly snapping you out of your trance as he smirked slightly.
âI hear you want to fuck me aye?â He asked, your eyes widening as you tensed up. Your face warming up with each second that passed.
âWho told ya that?â You asked, chuckling nervously as he walked closer.
âI heard everything Y/NâŠâ He said, moving closer to you as you swallowed your response down your throat.
âIt was just an honest conversation, Tommy.â You said, brushing it off as you got up. His hand catching yours and pulling you back to him.
âHonest aye?â He said, moving his hands to your waist as you thought about everything leading up to this point. He didnât want you. Did he? He kept his desires to himself, unknown to you. Letting his gaze linger on you for longer than needed, getting lost in your voice at meetings, and thinking about seeing you each day knowing your smile will greet him at the door.
âMhm. IâŠI doubt you do though. Iâll-Iâll just go.â You said, taking his hands off your waist.
âWho said I didnât?â He asked, your eyes locking with his as he lifted a finger to your chin, lightly guiding your lips to his as you melted into him.
âOi! Y/N. Weâre uhâŠgonna go. Have fun you two.â Esme said with a wink. Thomas shaking his head as you buried your face in his chest.
âWell now thatâs settled, what do we do now?â You asked, kissing him once more before he replied.
âI have a few ideas.â He said, leading you to his office.

Requested: Yes, by the lovely @peakyrogers ily bae. You can find it here. <3
Summary: Y/N joins a skeptical Bonnie and his pals on an eerie trek into the woods in search of an alleged haunted house. Little do they know just what awaits them.
Y/N and her boyfriend Bonnie walked quietly along the streets. It was cold, rainy, and the air seemed off. Y/N looked over her shoulder as she took Bonnieâs hand. His brows laced with concern as he closed his fingers around hers.
âWhatâs wrong love?â He asked, hoping he didnât attract any negative attention due to his affiliation with the blinders.
âNothingâŠI just felt like someone was watching us. Does it feel like that to you?â She asked, swallowing hard as she stopped along the pavement.
âI donât feel a thing. I donât really believe in that stuff ya know?â He said, taking her hand again and leading her to his friendâs Finn and Isiah.
âBelieve in what Bon?â Y/N asked, a smirk crossing his face.
âGhosts. Havenât seen one. Your mind can play tricks on ya, makinâ ya see things that arenât there. Thatâs what my father told me at least.â He said, opening the door to the boxing gym. Y/N nodded, hoping it was just her mind after all.
Inside, Isiah and Finn were finishing up. Their bodies covered in sweat and varying shades of red from their injuries.
âThere they are! You ready for tonight Y/N?â Finn asked, wiping his face off with a towel.
âReady for what? Bonnie whatâd you do?â She asked, playfully hitting his arm.
âI may have found a haunted house we can exploreâŠâ He said.
âYou said you donât believe.â Y/N stated.
âThat doesnât mean we canât have a little bit of fun now aye? Câmon.â He said taking her hand as they followed the other young blinders.
The walk there was dark and cold, much like earlier, except now all the creepy animals had come out to play. Y/N clutched Bonnieâs hand as she peered through the trees, swearing she saw golden eyes staring back at her.
âDid you see that?â She asked, her voice a whisper in the dark.
âSee what?â Bonnie said, cracking a pearly half smile.
âThe eyes. Theyâre staring.â She said pointing to the trees. Bonnie narrowed his eyes and got in front of her protectively.
âSee?â She asked.
âI see a lot of trees. Thatâs what I see darlinââ he said, earning a hard smack to the shoulder. In the distance Finns voice rang out.
âItâs over hereâŠjust have to sneak through this alleyway.â He said, lighting a cigarette as he walked down the narrow strip.
Y/N took a deep breath as she walked through the narrow path. The old buildings bursting with green ivy and dark stories.
âAye, look.â Isiah said, pointing to the decrepit house in the distance. Itâs structure black with crumbling stones and creaking stairs.
As they walked inside, the house seemed to groan as they crept through the halls. Finn and Isiah went one way, and Bonnie and Y/N went the other.
âItâs just an old house, love.â He said as she clutched his arm, her heart racing as they continued on.
In the distance a short scream was heard. Footsteps soon came running to where they stood.
âGuys you have to see this holy shit!â Finn yelled, leading everyone to an old library.
âIf you stand here long enough you can see yourselfâŠand your fears.â He said, looking into an old looking glass.
âWho told you that?â Bonnie questioned.
âIsiah, said his father went here once long ago. His friend looked through it and didnât speak for a week.â He said.
âNo, letâs go back. We havenât looked at the other rooms yet.â Y/N said, tugging Bonnieâs arm as he pulled her into him, his arm snaking around her waist.
âDonât think about it much love. Itâs ok, Iâm here.â He said, watching Finn in the distance as he looked through once more.
To Finn it seemed like time stood still, his fear of failure playing in front of him as if it were real. He was broke, homeless, and most of all a disappointment to the Shelby family. But just as he fell into its trance, Bonnie yelled his name once more, snapping him out of it.
âWhatâd ya see?â He asked.
âUmâŠme disappointing the family.â He said as Isiah chuckled.
âReally mate? I think youâve already done that!â Isiah said jokingly, earning a stern punch in the shoulder and slight smirk from Finn.
âY/NâŠyouâre next.â Finn said, handing her the looking glass.
With shaking hands she grasped it, hoping to whatever god was up there that she wouldnât break it.
Upon gazing into the reflective surface, she felt compelled to look closer. Moving the glass closer towards her as she saw something forming before her.
A young man similar to Bonnie appeared. He was sullen and weak. His eyes dark and clothes torn.
âDonât let him die Y/N.â The man said, his voice an eerie whisper as she saw the next image. There was a wooden cross in the distance and an odd whistling sound. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up as she watched him being drug onto a cross by cloaked beings that were reminiscent of the grim reaper.
âNo forest.â The man said as the image zoomed to his face, full of pain as he hung there crucified.
âWho are you talking about?â Y/N asked.
âThe one you love most. Youâll lose them if you donât act fast. No forest.â He said before everything went black.
âY/N? Love can you hear me? HeyâŠheyâŠâ Bonnieâs voice whispered as she came to. Her ears ringing as she looked around the old house.
âYou all take your turns and then letâs go. Please.â She said, shifting nervously in her boyfriends embrace.
âIâll give it a go.â Bonnie said, smirking as he looked into it, the world stopping as he saw his fatherâs disappointment. The boxing bell rang as he looked through the crowd. Y/N was there, crying one moment and then gone the next. Heâd lost both of his loves. His biggest match, and his girlfriend.
âBon? Aye câmon we canât be here much longer.â Isiah said nervously.
Bonnie snapped out of it soon, handing the glass off to Isiah.
âIâm okay. I donât want to get into that. Dad will kill me.â He said, remembering how distraught his fathers friend had been.
âOk, well then letâs go. Tommyâs got orders for us tomorrow.â Finn said, heading towards the exit.
As they all hesitantly walked through the alley and into the forested area again, Y/N stopped. Bonnie looked at her with concern as she brought him into a tight hug.
âWhatever you do. P-please donât stay out here. Even if your dad wants to camp here, donât. You have to promise me.â She said with tears in her eyes.
âDid you see something bad about us? Living out here?â He asked wiping a tear from her cheek.
She nodded, silently walking on while holding his hand for dear life. She wasnât much on fortune telling, seeing as her family was skeptical, but she warned him anyways, knowing even the youngest of the blinders could get themselves into bad situations.
It was on the walk back that she vowed to herself to not let him go in the coming weeks. Making sure he and his father had adequate places to stay instead of out in the dark forest.
âJust please promise me Bonnie. You and your father wonât stay out here. Come to my placeâŠitâs safer alright?â Y/N said.
Bonnie sighed and pulled her close to him. His warmth radiating off of him as he brought his lips to hers.
âI promise.â He said before closing the gap between them.
âAye quit making out. We have to get back or Tommy will be the scariest sight weâve seen all day.â Finn said, earning a laugh from everyone but Y/N, who was lost in thought - or more so worry, about the future.
You stumbled lightly as the bubbly went to your head, just barely missing a statue to your right.Â
âFuckâ you mumbled, going towards the bar in the living room.
It had been a tense night, Tommy had organized a plan to literally âburn outâ one of the guys whoâve caused him trouble over the years.Â
Sighing, you poured yourself another drink as the clock ticked closer to midnight. As the hands went by, it was as if you could see the building going up in flames. Your mind going to the worst case scenarioâs more often than not. People are yelling inside, namely the man whoâd caused trouble, and Arthur.Â
You shook your head slightly, dismissing the thought as âjust nervesâ and took a huge sip from the bottle.
âWho needs the fancy fookin glasses. Christ I got the bottle all to myself after all.â Youâd said aloud, walking over to the grand piano by the front window.Â
âWonder if Iâm better drunkâŠâ You wondered to yourself as the clock struck midnight. Fireworks went off in the distance, illuminating the sky and stopping your drunken symphony. The keys relieved youâd stopped playing them.Â
âWhy thank you. Thank you sky. GladâŠglad I could play for you.â You slurred as you gazed out the window, chuckling at yourself as you realized Arthur hadnât made it home like he promised. It was now 12:05, and the only solace was chugging the damn bottle.Â
You stumbled through the cottage heâd persuaded you to move into. The stones cold against your feet as you made your way to the kitchen.Â
âIâm gonna make cake. Thatâs what Iâll do. If heâs not home by then Iâll make him regret it tomorrow.â You mumbled to yourself once more.Â
Your vision blurred as you tried reading your own handwriting. The recipe showing the time you should allow for baking.Â
But in typical Y/N fashion, you haphazardly mixed the ingredients together, throwing the pan roughly into the old oven and going about your night.
It seemed as if only minutes had passed as you swayed to the records playing in the distance. Your laughing filling the otherwise empty halls.Â
You were one sip away from finishing the bottle though, when youâd heard the front door opening.
Arthur walked in, smelling of smoke. He shook out his cap and coat and glanced over at you, swaying and drinking the last of the champagne.
He smirked as he made his way to you. Wrapping his arms around your waist as he guided you around the room. It was like your wedding night, slowly dancing while your favorite song played.Â
âI played the sky a songâŠya know.â You said, stopping him and kissing his lips a little too roughly for his liking.
âAre you drunk?â He asked, a smirk on his face as he thought of the past times youâd had a little too much.
âFuck you. Fuck Tommy. Fuck the whole lot honestly.â You stammered.
âIâll take that as a yes.â He said, watching as you smiled and trash talked his family at the same time. You were the only one that got away with it too, the Shelby family getting quite the kick out of your bad impressions, snarky remarks, and slurred heated opinions.Â
âSâthat what ya did all night then ayâ He said, watching you.
âYeahâŠhad to bring in the new year by myself. Too busy startinâ them fires to kiss your wife apparently.â You said, getting up and walking towards the hall. In the distance you smelled something burning, your head not yet connecting the fact that youâd left the cake to incinerate an hour ago.Â
âI wasnât the only one starting fires love!â He yelled after you, chuckling as you grabbed the wall for support on your way to the kitchen.
âYou gonna help me or what?â You asked loudly, your heart racing as you smothered the flames as best you could.Â
âI leave you alone during New Years and you try to burn our house down? Christ Y/NâŠâ He said, putting out the rest of the flames in minutes as his calloused hands did the work.
âMhmm. Had to make it exciting.â You said with a smirk. Kissing him on the cheek before stumbling to the bedroom. Your head and your husband most likely going to hate you tomorrow.Â

The sound of heels on the marble floor echoed throughout Y/Nâs mansion. Her heart racing as she touched up her makeup and straightened out her lace dress.
It was the night of the ball. Something Tatiana had been going on about for ages. Sheâd said she had business dealings with a certain Thomas Shelby though.
Y/Nâs heart sank as she realized she wouldnât be able to spend the whole evening with the love of her life, seeing as the business Tatiana conducted wasnât exactly legal.
âHow was the meeting Tatiana?â She asked, watching as the woman she loved walked in without blinking an eye.
âHis wife got shot. But it was alright. I managed to get some business taken care of before everything fell apart.â She said, curling up on the plush bed near the window.
âYou donât seem shaken up about it love.â Y/N stated.
âIâve seen worse. The poor woman bled out in minutes. Itâs a shame. She was pretty.â She said with a slight wicked smirk.
âWell then.â Y/N scoffed playfully, undoing her robe to reveal a red lace set of lingerie.
âWhy are you all dressed up? Are you making sure I didnât fall for the deceased?â Tatiana asked, biting her lip.
âNo. Iâve just missed you. We went to the ball but never once were seen together.â Y/N said with a sad look in her eyes.
âNext time thereâs an event, Iâll make sure weâre together. I promise Y/N.â She said undoing her own dress quickly as you sat on the edge of the bed.
âGood. Because I want them to know youâre mine.â Y/N said, moving to where she was straddling Tatiana. Her pussy growing wet at just the thought of her mouth lost in her depths.
As you swayed your hips slightly, Tatiana grapped them firmly. Steadying you so you could kiss for what felt like an eternity.
You slowly broke the kiss though, biting and sucking your way down her neck, leaving small bruises as you made your way down.
Tatiana gasped as you bit her nipples slightly. Her breasts peeking up in excitement as you grabbed them. You continued your games, trailing kisses down her stomach, stopping right at her clit.
It was supple glistening, just waiting to be messed with. She gasped as you kissed her clit again, blowing cool air onto it as you teased her thighs.
âPleaseâŠY/N.â She said, grabbing her hair.
âNot yet love. Iâm not done.â Y/N said with a devilish grin.
âFuckâŠâ Tatiana moaned quietly as you circled around her clit, gently applying pressure until she was about to burst.
âDonât cum yet darling.â Y/N said, kissing her clit once again before moving to her lips, the kiss desperate yet passionate.
âIâll get you backâŠfor thisâŠâ Tatiana said, grabbing her hair and coaxing her downward.
âIâm looking forward to it.â Y/N said before licking all over her pussy. The taste of her making her own arousal grow as she heard Tatianaâs moans. She was moaning Y/Nâs name. Not anyone elseâs, and it drove you wild knowing your name was on her lips.
You slowly slipped you tongue in and out, causing Tatiana to rock her hips slightly as she grabbed your head to create more pressure.
âHarder.â She said breathlessly as you picked up your pace and buried your tongue further in. You brought one and up, gripping her thigh, while the other was circling her clit feverishly.
âOhâŠ.â You heard her say as she ground herself on your face. Her cum coating your mouth and nose as she came closer to the edge.
âKeep goingâŠâ Tatiana said, her hands releasing your hair as she gripped the sheets around her. You felt her clenching inside as you kept your pace, knowing sheâd let loose at any moment.
And she did, loudly moaning and grinding down on you as she came. Desperately begging for more.
âFuck meâŠnow.â She said, her eyes serious despite the flushing of her cheeks.
âAlright.â Y/N said, eating her out once more before putting a few fingers in side her. She started her movements slow, allowing her to adjust. Her hips bucking upwards as you thrusted them in faster and harder. She squealed and moaned as you continued, finger-fucking her until she came close again.
âOh godâŠ.Y/NâŠ.â She said loudly, her moans and breaths becoming more erratic as she circled her own clit and fingered herself with her other hand.
Y/N gently curled her fingers up, finding Tatianaâs g-spot as she moaned her name. The next orgasm was eminent. He walls clenching around your fingers as she opened like a flood gate. Her juices spraying out blissfully onto you and the bed.
âOh noâŠ.â Tatiana said breathlessly as she shook from her massive orgasm.
âWeâre going to have to clean this up.â Y/N said.
âNot until Iâm done with you my love.â Tatiana said, moving to where she was straddling Y/N now. She knew she had it coming, but she wanted as much time with her beautiful girlfriend as possible, seeing as the next few weeks sheâd be conducting some risky business.

Summary: Y/N worries Finnâs family wonât trust her, but she gains it in an unexpected way.
âIâve told you a hundred times Finn, your family doesnât like me! Itâs no secret.â Y/N stated, pacing around her room that Finn ventured to almost every night.
âThey do too! Theyâre just...horrible at trusting people really. Thatâs all.â He said, stopping her from frantically pacing by placing his arms around her when she got close to him.
âLet me go!â She yelled, giggling as he picked her up and placed her on the bed.Â
He hovered over her like so many nights before, kissing her neck as she whimpered quietly in her barren apartment. His hands trailing down to her hips as she pulled him closer, their movements slowly breaking her out of her worries.
âWhen you-â Y/N began, but was interrupted by Finn kissing her passionately.
âStop worrying. Weâre seeing them tomorrow whether you want to or not. They know how important you are to me, they just havenât gotten to know you that well yet.â He said, continuing his actions as she moaned into his lips as his hands traveled further down.
Later that night, they lied there tangled in each otherâs arms. Breathing ragged as they came down from their high.
âCan you believe weâve been dating for a year, love?â He asked, looking up at the aging ceiling.
âDating in secret for 6 months, dating in public for the other 6, it doesnât feel like a year.â She said tersely.
Finn sighed as she spoke, preparing himself for another mini-lecture.
âMy family can be a bit much Y/N, Iâm sorry I kept you a secret from them for so long. Thereâs just...a lot of things about them that are-â He started before Y/N interrupted him.
âDangerous. I know.â She said sighing as she cuddled into his chest.
âYeah. Youâre not on their bad side, but itâs easy to get there, so I just wanted to keep you safe. Those 6 months were some of the scariest of my life so far. I just didnât want you to get hurt.â He said, kissing the top of your head.
She turned to him, not saying a word as she looked into his eyes. They were so bright and full of hope despite the things heâs seen, making her wonder how long it would be until they turned cold and sinister like his brothers.
âI love you, Finn. I really do.â She said, pecking him on the lips before lying back down to sleep.
âI know.â He said, settling down beside her, hoping tomorrow would go well.
The next morning, the mail man came by dropping off various letters, waking them from their slumber as he banged on the door.
Finn shot up, looking to see Y/N still asleep as he went to see who it was.
He grabbed his hand gun after he put on his pants, and quietly walked to the door.
âHello sir! Good morning. Hereâs the mail for Miss Y/L/N.â He said cheerfully.
âThank you.â He said, his nerves calming as he tucked the gun in his pocket, out of sight of the man.
As he waved the man off and closed the door, he heard his girlfriendâs footsteps lightly coming down the stairs.
âFinn? Who was that? Is everything okay?â She asked, pulling her robe around her nude body tightly.
âYeah, just the mail.â He said, running his hands through the mass of hair on his head. He hadnât told her the terrible news yet, but he figured bringing her to the family meeting would suffice.
He watched as she rummaged through various letters from her loved ones in London, knowing sheâd probably spend hours writing back as she missed them terribly. Her job at a childrenâs charity office had forced her to move out to Small Heath after all.
As he watched, he saw her pick up a small letter that had intricate writing on it.
Y/Nâs brow furrowed as she didnât recognize the persons handwriting.
And when she opened it, she only grew more confused as she stared at the black handprint stamped on the white paper.
âWhatâs this?â She asked, raising it up to him. He crossed the room in a flash and tugged the letter from her hand.
âWe have to go.â He said quickly, angrily.
âFinn, wait! We have to get dressed are you mad?!â She yelled, panicking internally.
Finn stopped near the front door and pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance, realizing he almost went to a family meeting half dressed, and leaving his girlfriend to meet them in a robe.
âRight. Ok, we have to be quick. Câmon.â He said leading her back upstairs so they could change.
Once done, they ran down the stairs, Y/N grabbing the letter and shoving it in her pocket as they went out the door.
Meanwhile at the shop, Tommy paced and checked his pocket watch as the family waited for Finn, knowing heâd probably bring his girlfriend in with him.
âSo youâre telling me this fucking black hand is from the Changrettaâs, Tom?â John asked, his face flushing with anger as he slammed the letter on his desk.
âYes. Theyâre here and theyâre taunting us. But I canât talk about that until everyoneâs here alright?â
âOi heâs probably just fucking his, girlfriend theyâll be here soon. She has no ties to us besides Finn. They wouldnât go after him or her, heâs not as involved.â Arthur said.
âNot yet. I know how he works. Heâs going to try to run this family into the ground if we let him.â Tommy said, lighting a cigarette as the shop doors flew open, Finn practically dragging Y/N through the lobby and into the room.
âWhat the fuck is this Tommy! Whyâs he coming for her eh?â He said grabbing the letter from her hand roughly and tossing it on his desk.
âFinn, Y/N...nice of you to join us. Everyone sit down.â He said walking in front of his desk and leaning against it.
âWhy is he coming for her? Can we trust her?â Linda asked, earning a cold look from Finn.
âShut it Linda. Yes you can trust her for gods sake, leave the poor girl alone.â Ada said.
âSince I got this letter personally may I speak? Or do I have to be pregnant or married to one of you to do so?â Y/N remarked snidely, annoyed at Lindaâs assumptions. Polly smirked as she sipped her tea nervously. Tommy raised an eyebrow and nodded for her to continue, not expecting her to join in on things so quickly.
The room fell silent as she clutched Finns hand nervously.
âI know Iâm not liked around here. You have no reason to like me and Iâm not going to beg for anyoneâs approval, but I want you to know you can trust me. I love Finn, and Iâd never put him and your family in harms way, and to my knowledge he wouldnât do so either. I canât even begin to tell you how I got that letter, but before you call me out again, Linda. Iâd like to ease some of your allâs suspicions.â She said, shifting in her seat.
âIâve met you all a fair amount of times in the last 6 months. During that time Iâve had to readjust to a new job and move away from my family who are in London, and they have no ties to whatever the hellâs going on, therefore they donât have ties to me either. I swear you can trust me.â She said, feeling her heart rate sky rocketing.
âDo you know about Luca Changretta?â Tommy asked, rubbing a cigarette along his lip before lighting it and taking a drag.
âNo. Iâve never heard that name in my life.â She stated.
âWell, Iâve called you all here today because that is one of the men who sent us all black hands. Everyone got one, and that means he knows where we live, he most likely knows where we are at all times.â Tommy said.
âIâm going to have eyes on you until this is over, but I need you all to promise me something.â He said, putting out his cigarette in the tray on his desk.
âPromise what Thomas?â Polly asked, putting her tea down and crossing her arms.
âIf you see anything suspicious, you tell me. I donât care if itâs a false alarm, you tell me and donât mutter any of this to a single soul.â He said, glaring at everyone as they sat before him.
âJohn, Arthur, Finn, Isiah. Get ready, grab your guns and your caps. Ladies you stay here, only go out for break. Polly, keep the legal business running, we canât have someone slipping under our noses.â He said checking his bullets and putting on his coat.
âWill you be setting men up at our houses?â Esme asked.
âYes. Mine too, donât worry theyâve been briefed already.â He said, walking out the door.
Finn stood up reluctantly and pulled Y/N in for a hug and she placed a quick peck on his lips before he left, putting his cap on his head and grabbing a gun.
âNow, we have to work ladies. Y/N youâre staying here. Youâll have to call in today.â Polly said, grabbing papers off Tommyâs desk.
âOkay. I can help if needed, Iâve done secretary work before.â She said.
Polly looked at her for a moment and studied her before answering.
âAlright, thereâs a desk near mine thatâs been empty, I think the poor girl quit but hasnât handed in her letter of resignation. Youâll take her desk for today, Iâll give you papers to sign with the company name.â She ordered.
âOkay, thank you Polly.â Y/N said quietly, sitting down at the rather large desk. The girl mustâve quit because the desk was empty and she found no personal items there, not even a photograph.
Polly came strolling over with a handful of documents pointing at the various places to sign and explaining some of the forms to her.
âThank you, Polly.â She said giving her a small smile.
Y/N began signing, using it as a way to take her mind off of Finn and his brothers whereabouts.
Polly and Ada discussed some other work, and Linda filed some papers while Esme typed documents up, they all worked together nicely but there was a visible underlying tension between them and Linda. And if Y/N had a bad list, she knew she was first on it.
She sighed as she blew through the papers, yearning for a break and deciding to call in for the day at her regular job.
âHello this is Y/N Y/L/N. Iâm calling in today, I have some personal matters to attend to.....alright....thank you Mrs. Johnson. Iâll be in tomorrow....goodbye.â She said, hearing the disappointment in her bosses voice as she spoke.
âDid you call in?â Polly asked, overhearing your phone call.
âYes. My boss wasnât too happy but itâs not something I can control really.â She said.
âNext time I wouldnât deal in absolutes my dear.â Polly said, combing through papers.
âWhat do you mean?â Y/N asked, finishing the forms on her desk.
âI know we havenât known you for long but one thing you should know about the Shelbyâs my dear is that we try not to make promises or make definite plans with others.â She said.
âSo youâre saying I probably wonât be coming into work tomorrow either?â Y/N asked, anxiety filling her mind as she thought of Finn being hurt.
âYes. You never know with this fucking family.â She said lighting a cigarette.
âIâll keep that in mind.â She said, excusing herself as she went towards the front door.
âWhere are you going?â Polly asked.
âI just need some space. Iâll be right outside.â She said, she was about to promise that too but she heeded Pollyâs words. They made sense but she couldnât shake the sense of dread out of her bones.
As she leant against the cold brick building, she heard the door open as Ada walked out and stood near her.
âDid you come out here to see if I was lying?â Y/N asked.
âThat and I wanted to apologize for Linda. Sheâs...difficult.â She said, lighting a cigarette for herself.
Y/N scoffed and lit one of her own, looking around nervously, scanning the streets for anything suspicious.
âThey wouldnât hang out right near the shop unless they want to be shot on sight.â Ada said.
âCanât risk anything though eh?â Y/N said, taking another drag from her cigarette.
Ava smirked and nodded as she looked out at the dark, black-tinged buildings in front of them.
âWe do like you, you know...we just canât trust people very often in this business.â She said, looking at Y/N.
Y/N smiled as she stared at the brunette Shelby, her eyes less scarred by everything, kind of like Finnâs.
âFinn said that too. Iâm relieved to hear that, I know itâs not easy welcoming in new people.â She said.
Ada nodded and patted Y/Nâs shoulder before going back inside, leaving her out in the open.
Suddenly, a man walked near her looking just slightly out of place against the tattered clothes of the townspeople. He was tall, lean, and had a black hat on, making her tense up as he drew closer.
âHello miss. Ya know where I can find a bar âround here?â He asked, looking around him quickly as he spoke, a toothpick sticking out of his mouth on the verge of falling with each word.
âNo, sorry sir. Have a good day.â She said glancing at the tattoo on his neck.
âYou work here?â He asked, walking closer to her.
She backed up until her back hit the wall, leaving her nowhere to go.
âNo. May I ask your name? Not many men stop me on the streets and Iâd like to know.â She asked, her heart racing as she tried to remain calm.
âYou donât belong on the streets sweetheart. You could join me though, I have some business Iâm taking care of here, but when Iâm done I can help you ya know.â He said leaning his palm against the wall, he was so close she could smell his cologne.
âThat sounds suspicious you know. Iâm not stupid.â She said, trying to walk towards the door of a nearby unmarked building, trying to get him away from the entrance to the shop.
He grabbed her wrist tightly as she went to yell, clasping his hand hard over her mouth and nose with a wet cloth. One whiff of the stuff and she was out, blackness overtaking her vision.
When she woke up she was in an alley, her clothes were ripped and her hands were tied to a pipe along a brick wall.
âWhat did you do to me?â She asked, scared of the answer.
âNothing sweetheart, just wanted to take you somewhere more quiet, you seemed like a rowdy one.â He said, closing in around her and cutting her hands loose.
âNow, Iâm going to ask you a question again. You have to answer honestly or Iâll take you right here in this alley.â He said.
âOkay.â She said sternly, trying to calm her nerves.
âWhatâs your name?â He asked.
âI asked you that earlier but you never told me.â She spat as he gripped her wrists tightly.
âMy name is Y/N Y/L/N.â She said.
âI thought so. Mr. Shelby really needs to beef up his security around there donât ya think?â He asked.
âYes.â She said as he chuckled.
âYou didnât answer my question you know.â She stated, looking at his gun in its holster.
âOh my bad sunshine. The names Luca. Luca Changretta. Wish we coulda met under better circumstances. I didnât know Finn had such a fine woman.â He said.
âHow do you know me?â She asked.
âI know all my enemies names. Ya gotta keep emâ closer than ya friends, you know the saying.â He said.
âI know youâre scared, but I just have one proposition for ya.â He continued, his eyes boring a hole into hers.
âWhat is it? To join your shitty hat club?â She asked, annoyed she got into this situation.
âNow that wasnât nice miss Y/L/N. Iâll have to get ya for that one. Such a shame.â He said, flicking his switchblade out with one hand and gripping both your wrists with the other.
âIf ya scream Iâll end ya.â He said. She blinked back tears as she forced her mouth shut, bracing for the pain of the blades edge coming for her face.
âYou tend to run that pretty mouth of yours so let me help you with that.â He said inching the blade closer to her lips. She breathed heavily through her nose as she thought of anything to get her out of this situation.
She quickly brought her knee up, hitting him in the groin and making him groan in pain as he moved away from her, allowing her to run a couple of feet ahead of him.
âYou canât out-run a gun sweetheart.â He said, standing there with a pained look on his face as he clicked the gun, the bullets ready to fire in a split second.
âWalk back here and listen to my plan princess. Iâll let you go home after we talk.â He said.
Shaking, she reluctantly walked back to him, the alley feeling as if it was closing in on her every second.
âWhat?â She said, crossing her arms over her chest.
âYouâre going to help me. Iâm gonna send my men to Tommyâs warehouse and youâre gonna tell Tommy to meet them there with his brothers in tow...and youâre gonna blow it up. Weâve planted the bombs but youâll push the button.â He said, a evil smirk hinting at his lips.
âYouâre mad.â She said, attempting to walk away from him before he slammed her to the wall, cutting her cheek with the switchblade in the process.
âIf you stand me up or tell them about the bombs, Iâll kill ya, and then Iâll kill your little boyfriend. Iâm already after the rest of them. You canât beat me sweetheart, Iâve been tracking you and Finn for days.â He said.
She touched her cheek silently as she cried, nodding along with his words as he brought her in for a hug.
âGood girl. Now, go home or back to whatever you were doing. Donât forget ya job later, be at the wear house at 7.â He said before walking off.
Y/N smirked as the blood ran down her cheek. He wasnât that smart, and it was the perfect way to earn the Shelbyâs trust, now that their lives depended on it.
She glanced at her watch and realized sheâd been out for longer than she shouldâve. Knowing Tommy and the family would probably kill her themselves once she got back.
As she walked through the alley she realized she was right down the street.
âStupid bastard, couldnât even take me to a discreet location.â She scoffed, walking quickly to the doors and going in, walking straight to Tommyâs office. She could hear Finn yelling and Polly arguing with Ada, and the rest of the family quarreling back and forth as she walked in, not bothering to knock.
Everyone stopped to look at her as she walked straight to Finn, tears welling up in her eyes as he pulled her into his arms.
âWhere the hell did you go love? You know he told you to stay here...â he said as she cried into his shirt.
âI know. I only went outside the shop. Iâm sorry.â She said wiping the blood off her face with her hand and wincing at the cut.
âWhereâd you get cut then aye? You werenât at the shop when we got back. Fucking explain that Y/N.â Tommy said walking over to her as she sat down.
âThatâs why I came back here. I was just getting some air outside, Polly and Ada both know that. Then a man came up to me, asking me if I worked there and if I knew where the bar was. I said no of course. Then as I tried to head the opposite way, just to lead him away from the shop, he fucking grabbed me...â She said, struggling to catch her breath as tears streamed down her face. Finn knelt beside her, holding her hand.
âThatâs not all. Who was it?â Tommy demanded, the others stood around, tension in their features as they waited for her to speak.
âLuca Changretta.â She said, Finnâs eyes went dark, a look of anger settling over his features.
Tommy and Finn got up quickly, Tommy checking the guns and Finn pulling on his cap. Meanwhile John and Arthur gathered their machine guns.
âWait! Please...â Y/N yelled, making them all stop and turn to her.
âDonât go. Please donât go. He-he told me heâd kill me if I told you about his plans but I donât fucking care. If thereâs a time to trust me then itâs right now because if you go after him youâll all die.â She said, sitting back in the chair as she felt faint.
âWhat are you talking about Y/N?â Finn said, checking his gun as he stood near her.
âHe said that he wanted me to meet him at the wear house at 7, thatâs where you all were going, correct?â She asked, looking at Tommy.
âYes.â He said.
âDonât fucking go. He wanted me to be the one to push the button. Tommy heâs laced the warehouse with bombs. He wanted me to betray Finn. He wanted me to betray your family, but I couldnât do it. I-â she said, tears streaming down her face once again as Finn knelt down and pulled her into him, resting his head atop hers.
âWhat do we do then aye Tom?â John asked. His trigger finger growing impatient as he clutched the gun in his hands.
âWe wait him out. When he sees weâre not there heâll go after her, but heâll come here. If he was confident enough to come here in broad daylight heâll come here at night in a heartbeat. Weâre waiting him out.â He said.
âPolly, Ada, Y/N, Linda, Esme. You go to the room in there, close the blinds.â He said, pointing to the door in his office that led to a smaller area where Lizzie usually worked. Luckily she was at home with the children, so she wouldnât have to deal with the chaos.
The women went into the office and sat in various seats, closing the door behind them and waited quietly, all except Y/N.
âDid you hear what I said?â Tommy asked, his voice thick with anger.
âYes. But I have a feeling he wants to see me, maybe I can-â She started to say before Finn took her hand and led her to the office.
âYouâre not staying out here. The Changrettaâs take their plans seriously and heâll be pissed when he finds out you betrayed him. Stay in there until itâs clear.â He said giving her a long hug and brushing his hand lightly over her cut.
âWeâll get them, I-â He started to say before she cut him off with a kiss.
âDonât promise anything. Just go.â She said, going into the office and shutting the door behind her.
Polly quietly gave her a hand gun as she came in, putting a finger to her lips as she did so.
âIâve never shot one what are you doing?â Y/N asked.
âYou may need it. Just point and shoot.â She said.
âWhy me?â She asked, her hands shaking as she held the foreign object.
âYou just helped the family. We trust you, and consider this your first day.â Polly said.
âWait I still work-â she started, Polly cutting her off.
âIâve made arrangements for you. Youâre safer with us. Besides...â she said lighting a cigarette.
âWe pay better than those blokes at the charity office.â She said.
âYou called my boss? When I left?â Y/N asked.
âYes. Now do you accept or not?â She asked, finally looking at Y/N with a look more so of approval than suspicion.
âI will if we make it out of this alive.â Y/N said. Checking her watch to see the clock ticking down to 7pm.
âFinn.â Tommy said, pulling his little brother close to him.
âYouâll be answering the door. Donât say a word, just lead them here in my office.â He said.
John, Arthur, and Isiah stood at varying points around the room, guns ready to ambush them if needed.
Tommy checked his machine gun as he saw Polly closing the blinds and shutting the lights of.
âIsiah turn the rest of the lights off in the shop, I only want mine on.â He said and Isiah stepped out to do as told, coming back a few minutes later and deciding to help protect Polly and then from inside the small office.
Finn looked anxiously at the clock as he stood near the front door. It was 15 past 7, and knowing the Changrettaâs, they rented the fastest cars they could manage to get there.
A loud knock sounded on the door not long after, causing Tommy to look up from his pocket watch, a feeling washing over him similar to the moment right before The Battle of the Somme.
âHello Finn. Show me and my men where Tommy is and this whole thing can be over. I promise you that.â He said. Finn just looked at him and led him to his office acting as if only Tommy was there.
He knocked twice waiting for his answer.
âTommy, Mr. Changretta is here.â He said, waiting for his response.
âSend him in.â Tommy said. Finn came in and quickly stood in front of the door where the women were, reaching for the gun in his coat.
Luca and 3 men walked in, looking Arthur and John up and down as they sized everyone up with their eyes. His lips curling into a sinister smile as the toothpick stuck out of his mouth.
âI have a bone to pick with Finnâs girlfriend. She stood me up...broke my heart really. I couldâve made her night if she woulda let me.â He said, watching as Finnâs face turned into a mask of anger. Heâd never been one to keep his facial expressions in check.
âIâm sorry that happened, we were none the wiser, we were going to the warehouse just now.â Tommy said, staring blankly.
âIf you didnât know about her then you wouldâve been at the warehouse like we planned.â Luca said.
âCorrect. But she didnât return. We donât know where sheâs gone so that pushed us back.â He lied.
âSheâs as smart as she is beautiful, and I told her to go home but I know she came here. Iâll kill her, youâll see.â He said, walking towards the door to go look around.
âWhy else are you here Changretta? You could be out finding Y/N yourself but instead youâre here. My brothers and I were just about to go deal with this business before heading home.â He said, John yawned as if on cue as he rocked back on his heels impatiently.
âIf youâre not going to tell me then Iâll have to find her myself.â He said stepping towards Finn.
âArenât you here because you wanted to kill the family? Not just Y/N? You served us all a black hand after all.â Finn questioned, pointing his gun at Lucaâs chest.
He smirked and turned towards Tommy as he nodded at his men, clearly not afraid of Finnâs gun. The three men lunged for Arthur as John cocked his gun, aiming at one of the men and shooting him in the head.
Tommy went towards one of the others who almost tackled John as Luca taunted Finn against the door.
Arthur tackled the first man down, wrestling the gun out of his hand as a bullet grazed his shoulder, Linda silently cringed in the other room at the sound of her husband in pain.
âYou really thought you could take us down?â Finn yelled over the noise, shoving Luca back with the gun.
âI can, and youâll be glad youâre dead if I tell you what Iâd do to her-â He started to say before Finn landed a punch to his face, sending him back a couple feet.
âYou talk too much.â He said, going towards Luca again.
Luca smirked as Finn looked to the side briefly to see Tommy pulling a gun at the man heâd tackled. With one shot the second man was down, leaving John wrestling down the last one.
Tommy quickly ran to where Finn was and hit Luca in the back of the head with the butt of his gun, causing him to fall back against his desk, blood dotting various papers as he fell.
âFinn, go help John.â He said, before punching Luca in the face once again.
Finn shakily held the gun as he aimed at the man who was now landing punchâs to his brothers face, and shot, the sound of his body hitting the ground still causing a shiver down his spine despite him killing before.
As he stood there he heard a muffled cry coming from inside the room as he knew Y/N was watching through the cracks of the blinds, but was soon snapped back to reality as Tommy yelled out in pain.
Luca lowered his gun as he saw Tommy fall back, clutching his arm tightly.
He raised it at Finn, the blood dripping down his face and clouding his eyes as he aimed for the young blinder.
But suddenly the door opened, and Y/N came out pointing her hand gun at Luca, a tear rolling down her cheek as she did so.
âGet back Y/N. Go.â Finn said as he tried to shield her as Luca raised the gun up more, on the verge of shooting.
A shot rang out from behind Finn as Lucaâs head rocked back at the impact, his body going limp as the bullet passed through his skull.
It was eerily silent after that. Finnâs ears rang as did hers as he realized he wouldâve been dead if she had listened to him when he told her to go back.
Finn quickly took the gun from her and Tommy crawled over Lucaâs body to check the pulse, smirking as he looked up at Y/N.
âNice shot. Howâd you get the gun?â He asked, walking towards her.
âPolly gave it to me. Told me to point and shoot.â She said, wiping a tear from her eye.
âAlright.â He said, walking over to the door and telling the others they could come out.
John and Arthur got to dragging the bodies out back, while Polly and the other women tiptoed over the blood and back to the lobby.
Finn followed them out and left Y/N standing there for a bit, staring at the blood coating Tommyâs floor.
âIt feels weird the first time killing someone, youâll get used to it.â He said, tying a tourniquet on his arm before going to clean some of the blood off his desk.
âUm...Polly said something about this being my first day. Am I to work for you now? I-I donât know what Iâd do.â She said pulling her tattered coat around herself.
âYes. You can start tomorrow actually. Take the empty desk out there.â He said, referring to the one she worked at earlier in the day.
She nodded and walked towards the door, her hands shaking from the days events.
âOh and Y/N?â Tommy said, grabbing a cloth from a drawer.
âIf it makes things any better, I trust you just as much as Finn does. Youâll fit in here, just go easy on him eh?â He said, a small smirk playing at his usually stoic lips.
âIâll try.â She said smirking and closing the door behind her.
âY/N you ready to go home?â Finn called out over everyone talking. She looked around at what would be her new work, and ultimately her new family. Linda was cleaning Arthurâs arm, and John and Esme were making out on her desk. Meanwhile Polly and Ada were tidying up the place.
âYeah.â She sighed, walking to him and putting her arm around his waist as he led her out into the cool night air.
âDoes that cut hurt?â He asked, once in the car.
âYeah, but Iâll be fine. Donât worry about me.â She said, giving him a kiss before they drove off to her apartment. It was only mere hours ago that she was struggling to earn his familyâs trust, and now she had it, and she knew she had to keep it no matter what.

Summary: Y/Nâs ordinary day at work turns into the surprise of a lifetime.
Your eyes were covered with a blindfold as Polly led you to what felt like a field, given there was grass beneath your feet and you could feel your clothes catching on the tall wheat plants swaying in the wind as you followed her lead.
âAm I being kidnapped by your family? What have I done?â You asked with a smile, Polly laughing lightly as she led you onward.
âWe wouldnât dare kidnap you. Youâre too precious.â She said, thinking about how youâd been there for Tommy during his darkest moments, seeing him off before the war and putting him back together when he came back. It was a slow process, but you made sure to be one of the only constant things in his life. The only one who could get him to let half of his walls down since they were built up like a fortress. The stones so heavy you didnât think youâd be able to bear them yourself. But you did, and here you were being led on one of the most interesting times of your life, blindfolded of all things.
âItâs getting late Pol, I was supposed to meet Tom at the Garrison remember?â You asked, your mind racing with how the days events unfolded.
Youâd gone through half the days work to find a letter written by none other than your long-time boyfriend Thomas Shelby. The infamous main man of the backstreet razor gang youâd come to love. The letter included a small picture of the two of you from your first date years ago, taken by Polly on the front steps of the old house on Watery Lane. The two of you young and full of life before the war.
âY/N, you know he said in the letter he was trying to make up for the time spent away from you. Iâm just helping him out. I wouldnât want to disappoint my heathen of a nephew.â She said, slowing her steps as you thought about how youâd gotten to be behind a blindfold.
Polly had whisked you away per Thomasâ request that was unbeknownst to you. Telling her to take you out for an early lunch as a treat for not seeing you enough recently, giving her a few extra shillings to put towards a nice outfit for later.
You being a lover of anything remotely of shopping, perked up at the request, and so you couldnât turn it down. Not when you had free reign of the shops with just the mention of the Shelby name.
Although, living a life of crime, or more-so watching the others that youâd grown to love, live a life of crime wasnât always easy. Seeing as youâve had your fair share of late nights wondering when heâd be home, dealing with constant surveillance due to threats, or deciding whether or not to sew a wound up or have a doctor give it a go.
But this was one of the perks, albeit a rare one as he wasnât the most romantic of the Shelby men. Most times heâd send you flowers or would take you out on the town when his schedule would allow it, even if it didnât fall quite on a day worth celebrating, but you applauded his efforts anyway as he was a busy man with a million things going on in his head.
At times, this would put strain on the both of you. You sometimes wishing to turn his brain off, like a light switch. Just so he could focus on you and your relationship for more than 5 minutes. But deep down you knew he tried his best given what heâs been through. Doing everything he had to do to make sure you were safe, even if it meant going weeks without you like recently. But now was his time to make up for it, and little did you know how great of a length heâd gone to make that happen.
Polly slowed her steps as you felt someone near you, the familiar smell of his cologne filling your nose as he undid the blindfold. Your eyes soon adjusting to the sunlight that was just starting to fade into the evening sky.
Thomasâ eyes were happier than youâd seen in weeks. And if you were honest it was a little unsettling at first, at least internally. Youâd grown accustomed to his steely gaze but heâd always reserved a softer glance just for you. But this one was...different. There was more love there than before. More depth.
As you tore your eyes away from his with a smile, you quickly looked around at the set-up he had going.
There was a vardo sitting nearby, the one heâd shown you years ago where youâd make out until sunset until one of his parent would come looking for him. And there were two chairs and a makeshift table, with torches around it lighting the area. It was nothing compared to the lavish living you were accustomed to now, but it felt more like him. More at home in a way. Especially with the beautiful lake in the distance that matched the blue of his eyes. The color of them pulling you in like a riptide as he pulled your attention back to him with a light stroke of your cheek.
âWhereâd you go just now?â He asked, seeing you have that look once before after he took you to London the night before a mission, seeing some of the city that youâd never had the privilege of being to until then.
âParadise...I mean look love, itâs beautiful! Howâd you put all this together? Never knew you had it in ya.â You said jokingly, wrapping your arms around his waist as he pulled you close, his lips finding yours in an instant.
âI may have stayed here and planned it out with the lads...â he said, referring to his brothers and trusted friend Johnny Dogs.
âWell I think itâs lovely. But I do have to ask...whatâs all this for?â You asked, his facial expression changing slightly as he put his hand in his pocket.
âI wanted to surprise you since Iâve been away so long. Also, it got me thinking about something.â He said, watching Polly walk off in the distance, giving you two the privacy you needed.
âYouâre always thinking Tommy, I need specifics.â You said with a smirk.
âI was thinking about the future. Our future.â He said, holding your left hand in his as he got down on one knee, the sunset reflecting on his eyes as he gazed up at you.
Your heart raced as he let go to open the small box, a large diamond ring sticking out of the velvet casing.
âWill you marry me, Y/N?â He asked, a cautiously hopeful look on his face as you smiled through your tears. Your hand shaking as you held it out to him.
âYes!â You said aloud, wiping the tears from your cheeks as he slipped the ring on your finger and wrapped you in a long, protective hug.
For one day, it definitely was the most eventful of them, and you wouldnât trade any of it for the world, even if youâd gotten offered millions to leave the family, you knew in your heart you couldnât. It was where you belonged, and now the two of you looked forward to your adventure in marriage. Knowing the title of becoming a Shelby was sure to come with some perks.
