Well the things related to her mom showed up

It's almost like whatever Sydney experiences, they all have or get to experience in some form or fashion.

So this is nice but IRKSOME

Because it reminded me that Carmy really fell short

And that Sydney was left alone

With people basically letting her know he couldn't be trusted

And a part of her took that in and it stayed with her

And the ONE day of season 5 was a redemption arc

I don't like to think about it too much, it it'll ruin season 5

She knows where Sydney works

Sydney made sure to tell her

Sydney had a drink with her so they are a little more than acquaintances

You mean she's not gonna show up at Sydney's restaurant?

And she was hyping Sydney up after Carmy blew off their food tour and kasama date

Which by the way was egregious

And will he make up for THAT?

Season 5 in one day

Is Carmy gonna make lunch for Sydney at least? On that day?

Remember when Carmy stood up Sydney for the food tour?

Then he didn't consult her before breaking down the walls?

Sydney got upset and went to cook at another kitchen.

But her being upset and not being on good terms with Carmy, made the pasta taste gross

And she was even more upset because her mood affected her dish

Well looks like she tried it again for season 5

And it's working

Matching red sweater and red scrunchie

I really hope it's not a rule that Sydney needs to be on good terms with Carmy to make great foid

We know she can do it alone but in season 2 when she and Carmy had a disagreement, she jetted out of there

She called for a new kitchen to use

But couldn't stick the landing on her dish

She was stressed out

Near tears

I'm writing all this stuff about how Carmy is trying

How Carmy loves Sydney

How Carmy is doing all he's doing for Sydney

How Carmy wants Sydney to be happy

And in the back of my mind there's a ticker tape

It reads

This dude stood this girl up to help Claire move at the last minute (no it does not show that a he's caring person)

This dude blew Sydney off to go galavanting and left her making all the decisions about the restaurant 👇 (he wrote that himself)

This dude didn't go with Sydney to the hospital when Sydney's dad had a heart attack (just like Sydney could tell him 'I'm not asking' he could have said the same and bundled her into the van

This dude screamed at and cussed at Sydney in the review episode

When they agreed to be partners Carmy didn't ensure Sydney got a small honorarium to buy groceries

Had Sydney behaving unlike herself

Had Sydney feeling down

Had Sydney not caring anymore

It affected ME through the screen. I couldn't believe it

AND MANY MORE

He's gotta make up for those in a big way.

Before he and Sydney get together we've gotta see that he's changed so much that we don't have to worry that he'd ever thoughtlessly hurt Sydney again

Sydney imagined this dish really well and then as time went on her own imagination made a mess of it

That's probably because Carmy skipped out on her

For the food tour

Then she caught up with him at the Bear

But he didn't call her up to include her in the decision making to break down a wall

Then she borrowed a kitchen

When she went to create it, it was horrible.

Again most likely because she was upset with Carmy for bailing and then he broke down a wall without talking to her about it at all

She really wants them to get things together

Christopher Storer weirdly input the ice cream machine being broken

With no context

Marcus forgot they had one

Sydney didn't know they had one

Richie went to fix the ice cream machine with TWO SPOONS

I think it may come up in a very important way in the future

Especially with all the reference to snow, icemen, getting rained on etc

Important note right after this exchange about the icecream machine they show Carmy smoking with Richie in the alley.

They both light up at the same time. Seriously in sync

(I wondered why Richie needs to light up)

Again the close proximity to Sydney and then checking her out does something to him

Therfore the need to light up
