☆ Due to how long this is, I am putting it under keep reading. To whoever read this, have fun reading!
The Sun (𝗌𝗒𝗆𝖻𝗈𝗅𝗂𝗓𝖾𝗌 : ego, basic personality, consciousness, vitality, staminia):
how is your muse as a person ? do they think highly of themselves or are they pretty humble ? what’re they like when meeting someone for the first time ? are they an individual who you’d say is pretty aware of their surroundings and themself, and knows just what they want from life ? give us a peak through the veil of just who your muse is. only a peak !
➤ As a person, Yagami is an intelligent and perceptive man. Given he did go into law and became an excellent lawyer, which he helped a lot of his clients out of the whole 99.9% side of someone being found guilty (or so I like to think so since we only saw mentions and glimpses of what he is capable of doing), that's is saying something. Then, proceed to become a private detective after the whole incident with Okubo case, which Okubo was later proven innocent of his crimes.
We seen many times of how perceptive he is and how skilled he is uncovering the truth. He is still human. He is still flawed and can still messed up every now and then. But he is the best lawyer and detective you can get. Even if he isn't a lawyer anymore, he still has his badge and can still act as one if someone needs it.
I would like to say Yagami is a line of thinking highly of himself. He knows what he is capable of doing. He knows his skills. He knows his strength and weaknesses. He is confident. At the same time, if someone compliments him, he gets all flustered about it since it's someone else saying it.
Upon meeting someone? It depends on the person and how they approach him. If they approach him head on and want to start a fight of any sort or try to test him, he's gonna end up whipping out what he is capable of doing. That type of person who manage to make a great comeback and you want to wipe that smirk off his face. Other than those kind of things, he's pretty friendly and capable of befriending another quite easily.
As mention before, Yagami is perceptive. So, he is aware of his surroundings most of the time. Nothing escapes his notice. The slight body change, trying to hide things and trying to make it obvious, etc. He will notice it all or the best to his ability. Sometimes he may mistake one thing as another or become oblivious about something. I feel like he is mostly oblivious when it comes to flirting, especially when women tries to hit on him. He may not think much of it at first. Either that or he thinks someone is hitting on him when they aren't. As seen when Mafuyu was disguising herself to give him information and he thought she was hitting on him when it was quite the opposite.
After the incident with Okubo and Yagami refusing to be back as a lawyer because of that unless it is absolutely necessary, his eyes are set on being a detective. Other than what he wants to do in life in terms of jobs, he doesn't seem to be eyeing too much on what else he wants to do. He goes with the flow.
Mercury (𝗌𝗒𝗆𝖻𝗈𝗅𝗂𝗓𝖾𝗌 : mind, communication, intellect, reason, language, intelligence):
would you say that your muse is strong minded ? are they easily persuaded or drawn off of their own path or hard to reason with ? are they good at communicating their feelings, wishes, and goals or do they struggle with the general form of communication ? are they easily understanding of both other people and matters out with their own control ? would you consider them intelligent, book smart, street smart, and morally smart ?
➤ I would love to say Yagami is strong-minded and stubborn af. He will listen to suggestions from others when it is called for. It's not like he's going to do everything his way. At the same time, once his mind is set on something, it's hard to persuade him off of whatever his mind is set on. It's a 50/50, to be honest. On one side, he can make deals. On the other hand, he can be hard to reason with and he goes off on his own, especially if he is so confident on what he can do, though sometimes it lead to troubling things. Such as when Tesso tricked Yagami and led him into a trap in the Liumang territory.
It depends on how his feelings, wishes, and goals. Deep dive into how he truly feels and what happened in the past is something he doesn't communicate with just anyone or even want to talk about it. You basically have to force him to talk if it troubles him too much. Like when he gets nightmares from what happened in the past. Emi's death and his parents' death or even with what happened with Okubo. I would even put in with the events that occurred in Judgement and Lost Judgement as well to add more to his nightmares. Other than that deep dive into that territory, Yagami can communicate his feelings pretty well as well as wishes and goals. He knows what he wants and he makes it clear from the start.
The thing is, during investigations and cases, Yagami may not tell all the details. The only people who may get all the details is Kaito and - for one of Yagami's ships - is Daigo. Otherwise, you may get left in the dark. Not that Yagami means to do it, but sometimes he needs to gather up more info or something comes up where he can't talk at the moment.
He is pretty understanding for the most part. He does try his best to sympathize with others and gives them advices. There are times he may not completely understand and say the wrong thing. As seen when we may choose the wrong options of dialogue in both the Judgement games. Not only not always understanding, but sometimes his detective brain can't always come up with the best solution and he has to rely on others to help him out. Hence why I mentioned above that he knows his strengths and weaknesses. He's not off, thinking he knows everything. He knows he doesn't know everything or have the best statements to give. I do love to slide in this little HC that Yagami is more 50/50 on understanding women. To guys, he can understand more, given, he, well, is a guy. For women, he needs a better understanding because he doesn't completely grasp certain things. It doesn't mean he doesn't know everything.
I would love to say he's a mixture of all of them. Others may have their own take on which one he leans more on, but to me, my personal take on Yagami is that he doesn't lean on one the most. I do say he is not exactly the book smart as much as the others, though it's still pretty up there. Now, compare to Tsukumo, Yagami doesn't compete with book smart since Tsukumo seems to be more knowledge with books between the two. Other than that, Yagami spent a lot of time on the streets, especially as a teen. After his parents death, he did have a bit of a temper and often sought out fights, even more with Kaito. So, spending time on the streets helped Yagami polished up his knowledge of street smarts. Even more that he is now a detective and has to deal with gang members left and right and have an ex-Yakuza as a partner in crime.
