- Otto enthusiastically takes on the role of stay at home dad so Norman can work on building the company. Norman gifts Otto with a large at home lab for him to use when not caring for Harry. When Harry is old enough to attend school, Norman officially hires Otto.

- due to people not being open minded in the late 90s/early 2000s, Norman and Otto keep their relationship private (it’s an open secret at Oscorp). When Harry meets Peter, the two quickly become best friends and Harry asks his dads if it’s okay to bring Peter over to meet both of them. They’re all a little nervous at how Peter will react, but he is of course accepting when Harry tells him he has two dads. And when he finally meets them, Peter nearly loses his mind when he finds out Harry’s other dad is Otto Octavius. The two quickly begin conversing about nanotechnology and fusion reactors and Harry breathes a sigh of relief because it all went better than he hoped. Later, Peter teases Harry for having such poor marks in Science when his parents are both brilliant scientists (Harry responds by throwing a pillow at Peter).

Although they’ll always appreciate sharing a few beers while they pick through Danny’s film collection since that’s part of how they fell in love, they do other things too. If there’s a new release Danny is desperate to see, Nick is only too happy to go to the nearest cinema with him. Sometimes it’s a horror instead of the usual action flick, and Danny holds his hand through the entire thing. Nick likes those ones the most.

Any date is perfect for them. After Danny’s close call, spending time together at all is a blessing neither take lightly. Whether they’re sharing a Cornetto as they check for speeding cars or attending a reservation at the “fanciest” restaurant Danny’s ever been to (a surprise from Nick on their first anniversary), there’s never a moment where either man thinks it’s not perfect.

Nick eventually takes Danny to London, too, after very little persuasion. Nick puts on his best tour guide voice as they sight-see together, and it’s worth it for the look of wonder on Danny’s face as he excites over every detail. When they’re heading back to Sandford, Danny’s head on Nick’s shoulder because he’s well and truly tired from the full day, Danny mumbles something about city life not being for him but he’s had the best day in a long time.

Nick thinks he hears him say how glad he is Nick got transferred, too, but when he glances down to ask him, Danny is already snoring.

Excerpt: There had been no point at which it had been firmly established, or even alluded to that Danny was now permanently living in Nicholas’s spare room. Calling it that might be a bit of a stretch; Nicholas assumed it had originally been a pantry or a broom closet, with just enough room for a narrow IKEA bed, a nightstand, and a funny-looking lamp Danny said he’d borrowed from his aunt Louise. The shade was an odd sort of yellowy-beige, and Nicholas sometimes felt like it looked at him askew.
