In my mind, the overwhelming majority of the Dommy Karas I cook up are soul-crushingly, excruciatingly, insecure and desperate. The more pathetic, the better. Basically, I tend towards preferring Dom Kara if it's making a complete fool of itself AND/OR lowkey on suicide watch.

It's a horrible comedy of errors meets mundane misery type thing, to me. For example: Kara freaks out and doubles down because he felt snubbed by perceived neglect or rejection, etc. Or, he imagines something completely dislocated from reality and then refuses to adjust his own perception while making everything worse for the people around him. He misunderstands something that other people say or do, and then clings to his misunderstanding because changing his view is too painful. He pushes his desires on other people - often under the pretense of wanting to "help", or "be needed" - but when push comes to shove, he cannot defend them in a way that matters. He feels entitlement, for the foundation that he built on sand.
