DATV — Karash⛵
"On a calm sunny day, the air rests on you like a warm thick blanket. When a storm is coming, the air pushes on you less. We say that it is afraid, running from the storm." — Karash
Beloved NPC <3
Timelapse:
qunari linguist in DATV: tells taash and rook that the sweet weather guy will be allowed back into the qun and will get "help" from "those that heal the mind"
taash and rook: mild approval, completely oblivious
me, remembering the iron bull talking about re-educators:

I had a total lore headcanon explosion after sitting around thinking about Karash and the "devouring storm" and uuuuh...
Hear me out, so the Qun are super driven towards conquering, yeah? A lot of folks I seen talk about it like it's because they're just like.. evil, they think everyone should live like them and sure I kind of get it in a campy mega-villain way.
But what if they're also running from something, and it's more an act of short term self preservation as apposed to long term self-preservation/colonization.
The devouring storm is "green clouds" as was the tear in the fade, at least in Inquisition. Is it devouring as in... eating at the edge of their world? Like their known world is in a state of atrophy, just caving in on itself and shrinking their territory? The Qun hate magic passionately, violently - could that be because they see themselves literally at war with the magic that's consuming their world? We get crumbs of knowledge from various codex stating that venturing to the borders of their map ends in disaster and (assumed) death.. maybe it's because anyone that's tried to push through the decaying borders themselves decayed or got lost in the fade.... And what would Solas' tie to the Fade post-Veilguard mean for that devouring storm?? If ANYONE else has seen this idea discussed elsewhere or has any thoughts I'm dying to dig into this more..

This is a Karash appreciation post. I love him and I want him to be happy wherever he is forever.
I'm actually loving the qunari path for taash, especially the grafting of shathann's horn to their own. Obviously I wish we could encourage them to embrace both sides of their culture, but there are beautiful moments in each path regardless.
Fire on the Sands Pt.2
If Fen didn't have to save Thedas it would be fun to learn more about the weather from Karash⛈️
